Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was told as well as other potential candidates for employment that the owner of this company formed a "covenant" with God in order to start the company and thus giving the company its name. I find it hard for a company to replicate God when at the same time trying to ruin someone's livelihood in providing for their family.

This company done me so dirty that they actually had me scheduled to go on the truck with a training engineer way before they got my drug test results back. When they finally recieved them I was about 50+ miles from home, they had the training engineer put me and all my stuff off of the truck right then and their they didnot care about my safety at all. I had to call my wife to come and get me and she was extremely upset at this matter. I did not blame her because I could have been still waiting at home if it was going to be a problem with my drug screen.

I found it funny that the medical doctor on the other end of the line asked was I on any type of medication? I have never had this asked to me before and I have never failed a drug screen in all 31 years of my life. Now this company I feel is trying to make it hard for me and my family in a world that is already to hard as it is. I NEED THIS TAKEN OFF OF MY DAC so I can get on with my life and my career.

I WOULD LIKE TO TELL COVENANT THANKS FOR MAKING MY LIFE MORE DIFFICULT THAN IT HAS TO BE. I ALSO THINK THEY NEED TO CHANGE THEIR NAME TO SOMETHING MORE SUITABLE IF THEY ARE IN THE BUSINESS OF TRYING TO RUIN PEOPLE'S CAREERS!!!!

DAC Fix is just another way to make money off of drivers who have been screwed over by the companies. Everything DAC fix can do, so can you. It takes some time and effort though to write the letters. There are many companies abusing the DAC system and Covenant is a big offender as is Swift. There is a petition cirulating on "Ask the Trucker" to get someone to look into the illegal things that are occuring with the DAC system of reporting. Also, Kevin Rutherford is just like all the other people who want to make money off drivers but don't truly care at the end of the day.

I have worked in the D.O.T. industry for 19 years. I do company inspection on companies and audit their drug and alcohol company program. You have the right to send off your urine sample to a lab of your choice if you fill the result is wrong. And guess what the company has to pay for it. This should have been told to you by the MRO office when they quested info from you about your medicine. You have the right with inaccordence to 49 CFR part 40 to request in writing a copy of your result and not be charged for it. All you have to do is sign a consent form or send the company a letter asking for thee results. This must be done by return registered reciept. They have ten (10) business days to send that back out to you (confidential). This is also inacooredance with the above regulation. Also you should not have been driving that vehicle prior to them recieving that result in their hands. That is why the regulation reads, prior to hire, not employer is aloud to train, certifiy or allowed to perform any covered function until the drug test result is in the hands of the company drug program manager. I have read 4 or more of these same complaints. Just as you have the right to do your drug test in the privacy of the bathroom. It is against the Federal laws to watvh or monitor or be in the same bathroom with someone else unless they have give the urine collection technician any reason to be observe by a supervisor of the same gender. I do not know why ya'll have not turned this company into the D.O.T. hotline toll free number. It is simple to ask for call the DOT Drug and alcohol legal department. You do not need to leave your name, but it helps for them to have so information. They will audit the company and look at the log books to verify the illegal action. They could be find by the DOT for violating these regulations at the least the will be written up and a file will be started on them and the will probaly recieve an audit every year until the clear up the violations. Tne fines are very heavy and I have seen it wipe out companies before. This also is a matter of public record so anyone that wants to do business with can ask for this information under the freedom of information act. If you need information look me up I am in Jacksonville Florida, My company does urine and alcohol testing for about three hundred company throughout the USA. We write the company drug and alcohol policies for any company that follows under DOT rules. I am not sure if I can tell you the name of my comapny I know I can not give any personaln info but the name of it is Eagle Employee Screening ask for the person who has all the regulation in her head and updates them weekly. I will be glad to quote any regulation pertaining to drug and alcohol testing. Sorry this has happen I hope you sue this company for violating your medical writes as well as breaking Federal rules and regulations. I have been doing this job since the begining of drug testing so I do know what I am talking about. Give me a call we are listed. Thanks Expert in Jacksonville

Yes,certain medications can and will give you "dirty urine" and the doctor was right to ask you about taking any medications that you may/may not take. Before a urinalysis you should never drink large amounts of water as it will dilute the sample. You also should never eat any thing that has poppy seeds (true) in it as well as sesame seeds (I've heard). I'm surprised (not really) Covenant didn't allow you to retest as it is allowed by law if your sample was in question. A "positive" doesn't necessarily mean that there were traces of illegal drugs in your urine.I'm not surprised either that you were put out by the side of the road but as a former employee that was fired for refusing to intentionally violate N.Y.C. D.O.T. regulations for commercial vehicles exceeding 55 feet as well as 53 ft. trailers (permits are required,in addition to the NYHUT and IFTA permits)that Covenant Transport is not run by the Biblical principles of "Integrity, honesty and respect" that Mr. David Parker (CEO,President) has claimed to operate that company by. Believe me,I have seen and heard much worse. If he were truly the Christian he proclaims to be then he would not allow his company to operate the way that it does. However, his integrity, honesty and respect for his drivers has come into question many times before by former and present drivers and many have been disillusioned by his Christian witness and the operation of his company. The general "Christian witness" of that company is extremely poor.I know of not one Christian that works in that company (and there are many including some Pastors from area churches) that has had the integrity to stand up and demand this company operate by those principles that Mr. Parker has laid out. Not one. A true Christian would not allow any contemptible practices to go on. Money and profits have over taken the "Biblical principles of integrity, honesty and respect" in that company. Sorry for your troubles. Get a hold of U.S.I.S. ,get a free copy of your DAC,and put a rebuttal in. If Covenant does not respond, the information is to be deleted by law. If that happens ,don't tell Covenant. They have put rebuttals in after the time allowed by law (I have proof of this). Send Covenant a letter, certified, return receipt requested, and get a copy of your urinalysis. Talk with Human Resources (be nice, but that doesn't always work)at Covenant and see if there is any thing else you can do to remove this from your DAC. A failed drug screen or refusal is a very serious issue in the trucking industry.

So what was your response to the doctor???

#9Consumer Suggestion

Depending on what they say that you tested positive for sounds like they wanted to give you the benefit of a doubt. If you are taking Percocets or some other type of pain medication that has some Oxycotin or other types of opiate you may have had some of this in your urine. Your sample may have had a trace and they were wondering if you had any prescription for the medication. If so then they could record it as being prescribed medication. Otherwise if you had a trace of the opiate in your blood but no prescription then they could classify it as drug abuse and fire you. How did they say you diluted it???? Don't they have someone in the bathroom with you when you fill up the cup??? Do they have some way of checking whether or not you added water (One place I went to had tablets in the toilet that would show that you flushed something down before they checked the water before you flushed).
