I ordered a Sony 16GB ProDuo Memory stick for use in my Playstation Portable and Sony Cybershot. The product failed to work properly so I contacted Sony. Sony onformed that the product is an illegal counterfeit.
Cowboom.com sold me a counterfeit, non-working product passed off as a Sony ProDuo 16GB memory card.

Cowboom is owned by Best Buy and gets the items they sell from Best Buy store returns and warehouse overstocks.
It seems to me that if they shipped you a Sony memory stick that was counterfeit, then they probably got that item returned from a consumer who was trying to rip-off Best Buy.
My question for you would be: Did you call Cowboom to report a problem with the item?. I am sure that Cowboom would take back the item for a refund or replacement if they shipped you something that didn't work, unless you bought the item as not working to begin with.
