(letter I sent to friends & family explains it all)

Hello to all!!! Just to let you know, I had a serious fight with Cox Communications and their stupidity. As a result, I am boycotting them and all their services.

It's a very long story (very very very long) and trying to shorten it might not do it justice on my end, but I will try anyway!!!

As you might know, D***** has been living with us and has taken our 4th bedroom. Somehow, Cox found out and called me yesterday. They told me that unless he pays his past due bill with them (which was actually his ex-girlfriend's bill whom he was living with at the time, then she moved to Missouri) -- they were going to disconnect MY SERVICE!!!!!

I have had MY SERVICE with them for over 10 YEARS! Never late. I pay them people over a hundred bucks a month. They said that since he is living in 'this' address, 'this' address couldnt have service until everyone living there is current. Apparently it does not matter whom the account is under, who owns the house and who pays the bills!!!!

She even mentioned at one point that he could be watching cable or using the Internet and that's not fair!! I told her he has bad credit but my loan and insurance company has no problem with him driving my car!

Because it's MY CAR, MY HOUSE, MY CABLE, MY INTERNET! JERKS! (and I mean that in the nicest way! :o) Can you believe that?

Anyway, I told her to not even bother disconnecting on her terms, I wanted it shut off ASAP. So, it's off.

It's worse than that & I am going to physically go down to Cox and talk to someone. I called Qwest this morning.

They are going to connect us Monday. Our new number will be (402) ***-****.

And that's all I have to say about that.

I'm in Omaha and O.P.P.D. did the same thing to me. Really, I feel companies are justified in doing this. I believe it's called "theft of services". Erik
