Dude, let me see if I got this right. You bought a stolen car from a crook you met on ebay, who are crooks themselves. Then, the state police confiscated the car, so you got nothing. Plus, you lost $1200 in repairs. Now, the DMV wants the tax for a stolen car that never should have been sold in the first place? What the hell did you do in a past life to deserve all that? That's like the worst collection of bad luck I ever heard of! I can't even begin to find a way out of that mess. Who can you sue? Maybe the fraud who sold you the car? Assuming they have a bank account with any money in it. Not likely. How could they be served in a jail cell? Or even attend a trial? Trust me, after a run of bad luck like that, things can only get better from here on out!
