C.R.C. magazine subscription cancellation scam scare Houston, Texas
Hello, I am currently freaking out over a situation I'm in and desperately would like to get out of it. I am young and very stupid and I fell for deal of all the magazine subscriptions from the company known as C.R.C., I have read reports of people in similar situations to mine on this website. I don't know why but I was stupid enough to give my debit card number. When I received a letter about my order, which I found out would cost me at least (or more) $1,200 in the long run. They said they took a payment of $68.28 but it didn't appear to be taken out of my account. I called the number to cancel but the lady I was talking with kept mentioning committment to paying and just kept trying to lower the price. I kept trying to tell her to just cancel and that I'm unemployed and then she just said something about no more further payments then I had to say my name and hear a tracking number... However, I don't feel like I'm out of this all the way yet. How can I make sure I'm definitely out of this? Please, please, help. I know I sound foolish, but I am scared of being harrassed to pay for something I don't want.
