For what it's worth I take no pleasure in writing these reports. My experience with Experian is that they 1) Repeatedly attempt to
significantly increase the monthly rate without any notification, 2) They do not easily rectify the mistake when confronted as multiple calls were required to get the proper credit when one phone call should have been sufficient, 3) When confronted again with yet another unannounced increase, that more than doubled the fee, they tried to give me a partial credit, 4) The credit score they provide is not a accurate credit score but only their proprietary "Plus Score" which reflects an estimate only. Experian will NOT even provide their own actual Credit Score that they report to creditors / lender . For example, Experian reported much higher scores
score to two different Mortgage Lenders for my recent refinance loan than they reported to me on CreditCheckTotal.com. Here is the fine print on Experian's "Plus Score: "The PLUS Score, with scores ranging from 330 to 830, is a user-friendly credit score model developed by Experian to help you see and understand how lenders view your credit worthiness. It is not used by lenders, but it is indicative of your overall credit risk. Higher scores represent a greater likelihood that youll pay back your debts so you are viewed as being a lower credit risk to lenders. A lower score indicates to lenders that you may be a higher credit risk." You're correct; CreditCheck Total is division of Experian. The difference in pricing appears to be related as to what info they provide on a monthly basis. The $29.95/month offer is for credit reports and credit scores on a monthly basis (from all three agencies). They have another offer at $14.95/month that provides monthly credit info but only one credit score (theirs). Something is unclear about their pricing because they have the same offer for $17.95/month on the same web site.
Shop around for a better deal.

Yes you caught my math error. Good job. The increase is 161% or the new price is 261% of the original price. I was in a hurry. But you are DEAD WRONG on ownership: "CreditCheck Total is part of a family of online consumer credit reporting sites belonging to ConsumerInfo.com, Inc., an Experian company" per http://www.creditchecktotal.com/Message.aspx?PageTypeID=About%20Credit%20Expert&SiteVersionID=752&SiteID=100244&sc=669023&bcd=VhCj8kzS.

"They raised my monthly fee by $18.48 or by 261%!"
Incorrect. That's a 161% increase.
Experian isn't charging you. You subcontracted CreditCheck Total. If you go to the Experian web site you can get the same service for $17.95/month. There are other companies that offer the same service [through credit card issuers] at a lower price.
