I still can't believe I actually fell for this. I recieved a postcard in the mail stating that I was pre-qualified for an unsecured credit card with a credit limit of $4,000.00. I thought that was great...I don't have bad credit, but I don't have much credit, so it is hard for me to get a credit card with a large limit like that. I called the number and they took me through their speil. The bottom line was that they told me I would recieve an unsecured Visa or Mastercard from a local bank with a credit limit of $4000.00. I confirmed this and asked several questions before agreeing to pay the $219.99 that they required "process" my credit card. I was told I would recieve the card within 15-30 days.

2 months later, I called for the upteenth time wondering where the heck my card was when I spoke to a gentleman named Jerry Torres. He informed me that I would absolutlely get what I was promised and if I was unsatisfied in any way, I was guaranteed my money back. That made me feel ALOT better because I was beginning to suspect this was a scam.

Finally, after 3 months, I recieved my "pakcage". It was a merchandise card, a catalogue, and an APPLICATION for a credit card! I paid $219.99 to apply for a credit card. On the introduction letter it stated that if I felt I had been mislead during the initial sales call, I simply call the customer service center and they would replay the tape of the conversation for their compliance department. I called, and efter being on hold for 45 minutes, I finally spoke to the the "assistant manager", Cheryl, who told me flat out that the tapes would not be pulled and I would not be getting my money back. I told her what Jerry Torres had told me. She told me Mr. Torres no longer worked there and admitted he was fired because he was misleading customers! She reiterated that I would not be getting my money back, that my tape would not be reviewed, and asked me never to call again!

I have written to the Attorney General of the state of New Jersey, as well as the Better Business Beareu and several newspapers and television stations in their area. Please email me if you have fallen victim to this scam. I know it is hard to admit, but we can't let them get away with it. If enough of us write and call and generally harrass this company, maybe they will be exposed for the snakes they are!

I received a phone call from a credit card company promising me a $3000.00 credit limit if i sent them the one time fee of $174.90. I gave them a check number and my account number at my bank, on my next statement they had gotten their money. They said I would recieve my card in four to six weeks, I am still waiting and this was on December 5, 2001. The only thing I know about this company is what is on my bank statement. "Fcs Fincrdserv" and a number behind it 011205 200111263870337. I believe it may be the same Credit Enhancement Inc. from what searches I did on the web under Fcs Fincrdserv. Well I am out the $174.90 and I am chalking it down to experience, but I hate to think that other people will have to learn this hard lesson at their expense also.
