Credit Solutions of Ameria offers no solutions. Addision Texas

My husband and I contacted Credit Solutions of America last June seeking alleviation from credit card debt.

My husband is very sick and on disability so I started graduate school in order to make more money so we can afford to eat, pay bills...live. When his debilitating diseases worsened, we got so far behind we became desperate to find some way out. I spoke with someone at Credit Solutions who promised me that everything would work out and i was making the right decision if I signed up with them. I researched the company and found glorious reviews so my husband and I signed up for their program. I was very sorry to realize that my research obviously had many holes because the program does not work as advertised.

After we signed up, it was like a huge stone had been lifted from our shoulders. It was such a wonderful feeling...they were so positive...like cheerleaders in fact. I was able to sleep... But shortly afterwards, we realized how they operate and darkness fell, the stone is back and is heavier now than ever...i see no light.

I was told by the person signing me and my husband up, D. Johnson, to open a separate bank account specifically for this program. I was told to save $600 per month and my husband was told to save around $300 per month. By doing this, our credit problems should be settled in thirty-six months. They told us that when we saved enough money to pay a card off, they would let us know and we could then send the credit card company a check. This is totally untrue. They took out over $3,500 in fees before we quit the program and not one account was settled. We were in the program for six months.

They told us that the phone calls would stop and they did not.

What happens is...the credit card companies offer a settlement and a deadline to pay it...the settlement may be great, but they want all of it within a few days. Totally unrealistic amounts. (if we had that much money on hand each month, we certainly would not have any reason to be in a program such as this)

Then, when we could not come up with that much money within a few days, the credit card companies sent our accounts to lawyers offices...interest is growing as well. I have legal papers delivered, phone calls all day long...it is just terrible.

Credit solutions actually encourages you to get an unlisted phone number...i guess this is how they can advertise that there will be no more harassing phone calls.

We could never talk to the same person at Credit Solutions...one person would call me with an offer and never call back...when I called back, someone else would know nothing. We did get one offer that we could afford to pay off, but we could not get in touch with anyone who knew an thing about it. Then, when we did talk to someone who found this settlement information, she said that it was too late for that offer and the lowest she could go was twice the amount of the first offer. After the initial phone call...the one where they were so kind and supportive, the operators and "credit counselors" were not very helpful or kind.

We emailed these people over and over again...not one reply except when we emailed them to withdraw from their program...then...only then did they want to communicate.

Credit Solutions would email us offers and we would email back stating that we had not been in the program long enough to have saved that much money...no response...we would call and no response.

Citibank does not deal with this company...Credit Solutions said that I would have to contact Citibank to work something out. It was so easy. They put me on a low monthly payment plan...and when I get caught up the payments, my credit report will show that I have made my payments on time and be in good standing...

I thought this is how the program would be...easy. They promised it would be easy. All they did was take our money. They lied to us. They even told us that our credit would be okay...not good, but not bad. Mine and my husband's credit was pretty good and our scores were average or a little above, because we always paid each card on time (at least the minimum amount due)...until i got involved with Credit Solutions. They told us to stop making payments because this would scare the cc companies...they would think that we were going to declare bankruptcy. The credit card companies would be scared and offer wonderful settlements.

If I knew then what I know now...my husband and I would have done what we did with Citibank with each card we had. It is too late to deal with the credit card companies now...dealing with lawyers is much more difficult and costly. If we contacted each of our credit card companies ourselves, we would not be in financial dire straights right now...we would not have legal papers and claims pending.

Credit Solutions told us not to talk to any credit card companies and give them their phone number...there is actually a dialogue or script in our welcome packages telling us how to talk to the cc people. They promised us they would take care of everything.

Credit Solutions not only lied to us and took our money, they have made it necessary for me to declare bankruptcy...I'm sure you know what this entails. They promised so much and delivered nothing!

I am unsure what to do about this matter...I do know that my husband and I would like to make a formal complaint against Credit Solutions of America. I don't know if anything will come out of it, but I want it to be known that Credit Solutions of America offers no solutions. When you get into, or, are pushed into financial situations such as ours, you are vulnerable...they take advantage of this.

After I filed a complaint with the BBB in Texas concerning Credit Solutions of America, they contacted me and my husband immediately to offer a settlement. My husband told them to send us the forms. we were curious to see what they were offering. We have not agreed to anything or signed anything. I don't intend to settle.

Before the forms were even sent to us, CSA contacted the BBB and told them that we had reached an agreement in reguards to our complaint against them. CSA wrote that they, the BBB, would receive signed documents of our resolution. CSA assumes that because of our finacial dire straights, that we will take anything they offer.

They have not only lied to us, they are being dishonest with the BBB. Unbelievable!
