First of all, I'm sorry to see that were some things that displeased you. However, I will address the issues. 1) You were offered "phone insurance" for $4.95/month, which protected your phone for loss, theft, or damage. It's commonplace to assume that "insurance" would mean that you pay a small monthly fee for protection, then a deductible or copay of some sort to "file a claim". That's how ALL insurance works, especially auto and health insurance. It's no different. The deductible/copay is $50 for regular phones, $80 for the more expensive ones (like the Motorola RAZR). In like manner, you pay a deductible when you file a claim for your car insurance, the phone insurance works the same way. Many customers tend to misunderstand the phone insurance and think that it's free to replace the phone, then they become upset for some reason when the cell phone company tells them that it's $50 to replace it. That saves you from paying FULL PRICE for another phone, which is usually $129 - 300. 2) Do you know if your billing is post-pay (paying for services used) or pre-pay (services you're going to use)? It sounds like it was post-pay. Did you pay last bill in June? If not, you have that bill + $15 late fee to pay (which is quite close to the $81 bill). If she (the CSR) were going to waive your monthly bill, that would cover the cost of you getting a replacement phone (which was $50 under insurance). 3) Cricket stopped doing payment extensions (which were usually 7 days) because customers abused it. Too many customers wanted an extra week to pay, but then NEVER paid. Therefore, they removed the extension option. Now, it's STRCTLY month-to-month. Since your account is post-pay, you ALWAYS pay for services uP to the date of your due date, NOT for the next month of service. That's why you had the amount due of $81....you never paid the June bill (as you stated). Month-to-month means exactly that...you don't get the next month of service unless you pay for the previous month. If you're pre-pay, it's the same thing....you don't get the next month of service unless you pay for it. Make sense right? What if someone always told you, "I'll pay you next week", but never paid you.....every week when you asked them for the money? I'm glad the pre-pay service works better for you. You have to do what works...bad thing is that it's pre-pay, which the minutes can be more expensive, unless you get a prepaid that has unlimited incoming calls.... Hope that helps to explain everything...
