I'm sorry this happened to you. In your case, I would ask to speak with a supervisor regarding your issue with ordering the phone. However, I'm not sure first who you spoke with regarding returning the phone. The regular Cricket customer service number (800-CRICKET) doesn't handle online phone orders. That would be why you were referred to the other number that does handle those requests. I would speak with a supervisor in that area regarding your issue. The next thing to do afterwards, if they are no help, is to file an grievance with the Cricket Corporate office.
