You should really beware of Cricket Wireless. I bought a phone in December 2006 while I lived in Vancouver, WA. Then a few weeks later I moved to Oklahoma City where they do not offer service so I called in early January to cancel service and I was told that if I had a relative who wanted the service I could transfer it over and Cricket would put my account on hold.

One week later they charged me $62.57 even though I could not use it and I hadn't been able to send the phone to my family (I lost the charger). So I called them to just cancel the service and to try to get a refund. But the customer service rep (CSR) told me that no I could not get a refund and that yes my service would be cancelled (she also lied about her name). And I also asked for a corporate phone number and she said there is no corporate phone number but she gave me a phone number for an agent in Vancouver.

So I called the Van. agent and she told me she would work on it to try to get me a refund. She called back later and told me to call Cricket back and that they would give me a refund. I called Cricket and they said, yes you'll get a refund, fax supporting documentation to .... Come April, no refund and they have charged my account an additional $111.90.

I had time to call recently and got ready to battle knowing I'd have a fight on my hands. All I got was an argument about why it took so long for me to dispute the charges. But she did say that I would be getting a refund and my service is cancelled. So as of now my service is supposedly cancelled but I still have not seen any refund!!

Their CSR's are all extremely rude, argumentative and they will lie to you to get you off the phone. Whatever you do, don't let them automatically deduct from your accout or you'll be sorry if you ever have to cancel.

Got my money back on Monday! I decided to try the Cricket website contact form and immediately upon hitting the submit button I got a reply from an Aaron Pierce, Customer Operations Manager in Portland, OR. He didn't argue, didn't ask any questions (I gave plenty of information in the email) he just said that he was going to put the money back on my card and that it would take a few days. He was so helpful and polite, what a miracle!! God Bless him!!!

I'm sorry that this happened to you. Apparently the reps that you got were NOT doing their job. I know the exact process of disconnecting your service and they did NOT do it correctly. If you move outside of the Cricket service area, they are SUPPOSED to disconnect your account at midnight on the day you call in to do so (unless you give a different date for them to terminate your service). Did you ever check your Cricket phone to make sure your account was disconnected? I know that you shouldn't have to check behind people, but remember that the reps ARE HUMAN and can make mistakes. However, when you called later, that rep should NOT have argued with you about the charges made to your credit card. You were setup on automatic bill payment (ABP). That is supposed to be canceled automatically once your account is disconnected/cancelled. When you call Cricket back, ask to speak with the "Lead Representative Team" (Disconnect Team) and then ask to speak with a Supervisor. Then ask for your issue to be escalated. I would also call your bank and dispute the charges that you've seen from Cricket since you've disconnected your service. If you have online banking, you can dispute the charges online, and your bank can research the issue for you as well. I hope everything works out for you.
