Cross Country Bank is an Electronic Fraud ripoff. Wilmington, Delaware
I received a bank notice that I was overdrawn first part of April 2002. I went to the bank to find out why.
Cross Country Bank had decided to make an electronic check withdrawl on their own for $70.00, it may not be much, but this is a violation of my rights per regE (Electronic Funds Transfer).
I work in a bank so I am very well aware of my rights. I filed an "Affidavit of Forgery with the bank.
About a few weeks later I have $70.00 back in my bank account, but, when I recieved the next Cross Country billing statement, Cross Country had charged me a $30.00 return check fee.
I called Cross Country and spoke with customer service, they had no idea what I was talking about, they kept telling me I had a return payment come back. So half an hour later of trying to explain I was fed up.
To this date 08/18/02 I still have yet to see a reversal of the $30.00 fee. Now they call and harass me to death.
I recieved a call today from them and I told them I would pay $400.00 this week. The Collector wanted to know what date I wanted to pay I told her that was non of her business I would pay this week by mail and to reverse the $30.00 fee they owe me and I hung-up.
The phone rang 3 seconds later and this time it was a manager, he wanted to know when I would be paying on the account, I told him this week, he asked "what day would you like it paid" I said I would be mailing the check this week for $400.00. He persisted on what day. I explained they had already commited fraud on the account once before.
He asked very rudely "Oh, and when did this occur!" I told him, "Easter sunday to be exact, and I'll be paying $400.00 by mail".
He was very upset at this time and said "Why don't you pay the full amount due and we will be done with you!!" I stated "NO!!! I'll pay what I can afford!!!! and I hung-up. So we'll see what happens now and if they will reverse the $30.00 fee.
