As the Claims Manager for CSA Travel Protection, I would like to take a few moments to introduce my company, and to respond to this customer evaluation. CSA Travel Protection, founded in 1991, is a reputable travel insurance company held in high regard among consumers and travel professionals alike. In addition, the company is a member of the U.S Travel Insurance Association and Travel Industry Association, among other trusted industry groups. Travel insurance does not cover every instance, and we're sorry the customer below experienced multiple unfortunate instances resulting in a mostly unpaid claim. After researching this case's claim history, I found that the customer contacted CSA for emergency assistance via email. While CSA's email system is monitored regularly, it is not a channel for emergencies. We share our emergency phone number with all policyholders before traveling, and unfortunately this person did not use a phone, as instructed, when the incident occurred. Furthermore, the customer in question regrettably did not have any receipts or valid documentation to support much of his claim. For all insurance claims, regardless of industry, it is imperative for the policyholder to prove all damages. In this particular instance, the customer was not able to provide any receipts or documents that substantiated his claim. CSA's official position is to afford coverage whenever possible, and to look for coverage in vague circumstances. This particular claim lacked the necessary evidence with the exception of a new driver's license. The fee for the new license was paid out to the customer once the appropriate documentation was received. If you have additional questions as to why this claim was denied, CSA's policies or travel insurance in general, please feel free to call me at 1-800-541-3522.
