I have had several experiences with Custom Dog Training. I have sent my pooches to them for both training and boarding. In the past 6 years Carlos and, or Alan have trained all my friend's and family's pooches as well. I haven't even heard of anyone having this kind of service and relationship with a dog training facility. Not only have I referred everyone I know who owns a dog, but I have unintentionally taken business from other training facilities by simply describing my experience with Carlos and Shirley. They make you feel like a friend rather than a client, (even when I'm that annoying friend who calls several times a day with dog questions). If you are interested in training, or boarding that doesn't include your pooch staying in a crate all day, give them a call, take a tour, and see for yourself. It is kinda far for me, but they offer pick up and delivery services. I took the tour and had my lessons there, my dogs are great! Its well worth it. Give em a call, and tell them I sent you. I could use the referral baths. Thanks. Brandon, San Fernando, Ca.

I have known Shirley Rodas for a little over a year now, and i understand the seriousness of these accusation. Having met her, her family & her animals I have much respect for them & the services that they provide. I can honestly say that Shirley is one of the most caring, loving, honest, trust worthy & responsible human being I know. I know first hand she & her fiance Carlos truly love what they do & provide the best care/ training to every animal that comes to their ranch. Again there is always two sides to a story and the intelligent thing to do is to consider the facts before passing judgement. I have recommended and referred friends and family, with no concerns or complaints in return. Enclosing i would like to say god bless them and continue success to their wonderful business.

Hi, I'm just writing to say that my wife and I have been working with Carlos and Shirley and their staff for over three years. We have had an amazing overall experience with them, through three dogs. In addition, for those of you in the Los Angeles area -- if you recall the recent "Porter Ranch" fire in Los Angeles, you should know that Carlos took in something like 15 dogs that were displaced by the fire -- they're good people. As for us, first, we have a Jack Russell Terrier who was a one-year old rescue dog that was found tied to a tree before my wife adopted him. He was kicked out of at least three different dog daycares, and no one would go near him. My wife was at a loss, and Carlos took up the challenge. He took our Jack Russell up to the ranch to live there for about five months, and worked wonders on him. He still has a bad day from time to time, but he is a changed, balanced animal 95% of the time and we are amazed not only at what Carlos and staff were able to do, but at their dedication in doing it. Even now, years after he was up there for rehabilitation, if our Jack Russell needs a refresher course, Carlos will take him back up there for no charge for a few weeks. Put it simply, Custom Dog Training is the reason this dog is still with us, there was simply nowhere else to turn, and he's great now! Second, we had a very old Black Lab who had cancer by the time he first went up to Thee Boarding Ranch. He had a great life before he went up there, but I am fully convinced that the last two years of his life, going up to the ranch twice a week for day care (they will come and pick your dog(s) up where you live, anywhere in the LA area and take them up for day care to the desert, twice a week!) were as good as the last two years of his life could have been. Being an old and gentle boy, they gave him the run of the place, and every time he went he was allowed to "swim" (wade, really) in a koi fish pond that Carlos keeps there. Being a huge swimmer in his past, but being far too old to go out in the ocean any longer, I am sure that my old Lab was in his own brand of heaven floating and wading among Carlos' Koi fish. In fact, we were told on a visit after our old boy passed away that when he went in there, it kicked up the silt and clogged the pump for the pond, but they replaced the pump three times and just let him go back in to swim. They treated him like he was their own old boy, and when he passed, we could tell they felt it as we did. So, not only can they take troubled pets off the street, but also an old boy with cancer and take good care of him. Third, we adopted the newest member of our pack from Carlos -- one of his purebred German Shepard puppies. He has been put through on-leash and now off-leash training -- again, spending months at the ranch for the off-leash. He's still a puppy, so he needs a refresher from time to time, (well, actually, I think that we are the ones needing the refresher, not him!), and soon he'll be going for his protection dog training program. Carlos doesn't advertise his breeding program, and doesn't often have a litter. He is very careful about the dogs he uses, and the result for us has been an addition of a very sweet, goofy, fun and also very protective new member of our family. I suppose the bottom line is that not everyone is going to mesh perfectly with everyone else, but if you and Carlos and the people at Custom Dog Training can mesh well together as we do with them, we have found that they can be great partners with you in the raising, training, and caring of your dogs. thanks Ned

I have been a client of Custom Dog Training for over 5 years!!! I have referred over a handful of friends/family to them and have only heard nothing but the greatest things about them. Not only are they the most experienced and highly professional people/owners/staff but that have provided me the best service and experience. Not only are Mr and Mrs. Banuelos the most pleasant people that I have met, the have always treated my dogs with genuine love and care. Their training program has saved the life of my dog, Spanky, a very aggressive pit bull due to the fact that it was deemed to be put down per Animal control. After Spanky finished up the 4 week training program, he was a happier, obedient, pup. I would recommend ANY ONE to their Ranch. I have never had any problems whatsoever with the well-being of my baby...I do not believe these accusations against them and hope you don't either! thanks a million Carlos and Shirley - keep up the GREAT work!!!!

i'm a volunteer with BRLA (Boxer Rescue Los Angeles), we send many tough, antisocial and aggressive dogs to Thee Boarding for training. Dogs that would perhaps never find a home have done so with Thee Boarding's training. As far as i'm aware, they are exceedingly capable people.

CONSUMER: PLEASE BE AWARE OF BRANDON. He is a manipulative, condensending, immature, spiteful person, with absolutely NO PROOF OF HIS CLAIMS. This man simply wanted to use this website to "get back" at this company. PLEASE call our office, which has been in buisness since 2002. We can provide many refferals of happy, current, customers of Training & Boarding. We also provide free tours of our 3 acre Ranch. Our website is under "construction" at this point, but has some info and pictures if anyone would like to check it out (cdtranch.com) Readers/Consumers Please ask Brandon to Post all of the following proof: 1. What were the alleged "ailments" to his dog(s)? 2. Proof of such "ailments" caused by Carlos and/or Shirley 3. If the training was guranteed, and he was unhappy with the training, why didn't Daisy come back for follow-up training?? 4. Civil Lawsuit??? For what?? Provide proof of lawsuit and reason for it. FACTS: 1. Around June 13, 2006 Daisy killed a Yorkshire terrier and Injured a catahoula Dog. The department of Anima Care & Control, San Francisco arrived to Brandon's home to remove and EUTHANIZE Daisy. 2. Brandon, knowing Carlos's high success rate to rehabilitate problematic, abused and abandoned dogs, contacted Carlos for advice. Carlos then recommended he accompany Brandon & Richard to court and speak to the Board of Directors at the veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital at UC Davis. 3. During the Court hearing Carlos asked to be given the opportunity to train & rehabilitate Daisy. Due to Carlos's years of experience and hundreds of successful references the court granted Carlos's request. 4. Upon Daisy's completion of Anti-Aggression Training, Carlos took Daisy for a final observation that would determine Daisy's fate. Carlos was able to save Daisy's life and is now currently living at home with both her parents Brandon & Richard. I can provide all the documentation to prove everything I have stated. I can easily fax, email, or call anyone that would like to speak with myself, or Carlos. 661-944-6890 [email protected] email me with ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS. CUSTOM DOG TRAINING CAN ALSO PROVIDE MANY REFERENCES FROM VERY HAPPY CLIENTS WHO HAVE BOARDED OR TRAINED THIER PETS AT THIS RANCH. I HIGHLY ADVISE ANYONE TO CALL THE OFFICE WE HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE. Lastly, This civil case Brandon speaks of, was a small business loan he offered to the Ranch, the aggreement for payment was when Custom Dog Training was financially ready and able to repay this loan. Brandon offererd this incentive due to the wonderful outcome of Daisy's court hearing. (Documentation/proof is also available) The civil case is completely irrelavent. Feel free to give us a call. Blessings, Shirley Rodas
