866-376-9392On October 6, 2005 Cybertel Security called my son who is going to college. My son has been aggressively applying for scholarships and grants to help pay for college in Arizona. The caller represented themselves as awarding government money for education. Said that he had been awarded money for school in the amount of $5000 and needed his checking account number plus social security number so that they could deposit the money. They then stated that a $300 application and processing fee was required. Being that his mind was in the mode of school and applications for scholarships and grants to pay for school he gave them his bank account and social security number not thinking that this was a scam. When he called me and reported that one of his scholarships had been awarded in the amount of $5000 I told him he had just sold his sole to a bunch of con artists. We called the bank and had his checking account closed. Now he has no way of getting any money.

I have several questions that I don't know how or where to get answers. First, he only has a cell phone. How did they get his number plus his name and coupled with this question is number two? How did they know he was applying for grants/scholarships for college? He hasn't been in school for more than a month and has just started applying for scholarship/grants.

I have read the other comments on this web site about this company. I totally concur with their comments about being a scum bag company. They have no other agenda but to be professional scammers through lies, deception, and any means to get privacy act information.
