Mindsight Marketing

Ok so they made it sound like i just received a huge opportunity when i got called back for a second interview. Never in the first did they say anything about door to door sales.

I was working for Disney at the time, and was forced to call out sick on the day i was supposed to help out filming an NFL commercial w/ ESPN. I know many of u have seen it, its the parade commercial where football players are riding floats down the street.

So on my day of O, i knew something was messed up when I park and see this grungy sign that said, "applicants please park your car in the dirt across the street". I'm like so where the hell is the parking lot for us. Who wants to park in mud everyday. So that sign sketched me out already, cauz it looked like it had been there for 15 years. What kind of company is constantly hiring anyways??? Plus the building on the outside said "advertising Inc". Dont be tooo creative w/ your sign. I later realized it said that in stead of the real name because there were 2 managers in the office.

The office was a dump, w/ techno music and chanting going on. We waited a half hour before they called us 6 to meet the people we were going out w/. I still had nooo clue what the hell i was interviewing for, and i wasnt happy about a 9 1/2 hour interview.

Guess what we got to walk all day selling Bell South services to people who couldnt possible care less. We signed up no one that day, and probably walked 15 miles. If it werent for disneys extremely low pay i would have never taken the job. But allll I heared about all day is the money(millions) "you will" earn working for them. I dont know why i was sooo stupid to believe all the crap and lies they threw at me. I should have just looked at the cars they drive to see just how much money they really earn. Wait a sec.... oh yeah, my manager didnt have a car. He relied on his employees to pick and drop him off at his apartment everday. That sounds like someone earning 6 figures now... doesnt it?!?!

So i worked for them for a little over a month. Now for those of you interested in working for cydcor, let me give you a brief explanation of my day, just so u can see if this appeals to you!

6:30am Wake, shower, eat breakfast, shave

7:30am Leave for work and get to deal w/ the Heavy I4 traffic in orlando.

8:00am Start in "atmosphere" room where all the non leaders basically would for the first 15 minutes or so just pitch to each other, and go over our goals for the day/week. Before i go any further, "goals", needs its own special section in this.

Goals: My leader had this fascination w/ goals. Thats fine to have some, but theres a point where you are going way over board w/ them. I was required to meet on Sundays whenever my leader felt ready to get off her a*s and call me. It could be 10am, it could be 7pm. Whatever she wanted, just another way for cydcor to ruin one of my few days off. What would we talk about: "GOALS" for the week. Ok thats fine i guess. But then after that i was expected to have a 2 paged typed outline of my goals for the week, on Monday morning... where we were required to show up a half hour earlier to go over this. Wait didnt we do this on sunday??? Then we had to fill out yet another form on monday morning for our goals for the day and week, and well whatever it was never ending. To put it bluntly 5 times a day.... minimum we would go over our goals. u want my goals?!?! i'll give u them... "to make sales, so i can pay my bills." There you go, there's your 2 pages(Jerk offs). Ok now lets get back to my day from before.

8:45ish we would have a settle up where the high roler would tell us how and why they were successful. No names need to be mentioned but if i never hear the phrase "tight and to the right" ever again, i will be sooooo happy. U see our office sucked, when i finally left i was #3 on the seniority list(like it means anything there)And the only 2 leaders would do the morning speaches every day!!!

9:00 The manager gives his congrats to the high rollers of the day. The high roller says how they did it, and what their "goals" are, while we do these rediculous chants "juice" and hand movements. The manager then procedes to give his morning pep talk to boost all our confidence before we go on our marry way and hear a day full of NO's. This talk would consist of telling us about the money he and his bosses make, all upcoming trips he might take us on. Any stupid contests "mindsight open". Basically just a bunch of b/s that would drag out forever.

So here it is 2 hours at work, still havent made a dime. How many people are lucky enough to have jobs that will pay as little as mine. But then the day gets worse.

10-10:30ish Finally the morning b/s is over and we can go out and spend our gas and time trying to convince people to switch to bell south(another terrible company) from whoever their carrier is. To be successful at this kind of work u got to be arrogant, and a weasel. U cant care whose back you stab. This kind of work wasnt for me, i'm tooo honest, which is why i dont work there anymore. I didnt sign up many people. I absolutely hated the leaders and thier actions. They wouldnt care if they stole your apps, or went into your territory to take shopping plazas they thought they might be able sign up easily.(amal)

12-12:30 Lunch... awesome after getting to walk around all day in a full suit, tie, and coat. In the middle of summer in Orlando in 100 degree heat, finally we can sit down for our only break in an 11 hour shift. Our half hour lunch. I feel "lucky" to have got the opportunity to do this kind of work!!!!!

12:30 The next slap in the face. Time to walk another 10 miles in this intense heat. "Hi, how are u today? My name is Jeff, and i'm here on behalf of Bell South. You are w/ bell south, right? Yes, great... well i'm just in the area for today talking to all the local customers about our new low rates and discounts that we just rolled out for the third quarter. So go grab a copy of "your" bill and i'll take a quick look to see where i can help you out today!"- Thats what i got to say to 50+ businesses a day. Usually i would say that and then have a door slammed in my face, or maybe get screemed at, or even this one time i was fortunate enough to get a customer to let his 2 bull dogs loose on me. I got to run about an 1/8th a mile down the street. That got my heart pounding away. "God i love this work". So i would keep this up until about 5:30.

5:30-6ish Drive back after 8 hours of walking in intense heat. Completely mentally and physically drained after doing this. Maybe i made $30 dollars for my whole 11 hour work day, which still isnt over.

6-7:00 "Atmosphere" time again. WE'd all get to walk around w/ our big smiles and say our day was GREAT...(God forbid we said otherwise) You say anything but great, say goodbye to your job. What i loved though, was the people threatening your job, were the people w/ the worst attitudes of them all. Another thing, besides having no chairs in the atmosphere room... if you dare lean against ANYTHING thats grounds for dismissal also. So 11 hour work day, walk constantly in tremendous heat getting bitched at, then u go back and they force u to stand and get bitched at again???? On commission???? w/ no benefits of vacation time???? HOw is this a good job???? opportunity?!?!?

7:00 We finally leave, unless its "team night". Lets just assume this day wasnt. But i'd get to battle the traffic again, and get home for close to 8ish cauz of traffic. I would then have 2 1/2 hours from the time home to eat, shower, get changed, clean up, and attempt to have a social life before i would have to be asleep again so i can go through another day of hell.

I lost my g/f cauz of this company, my car, thousands of dollars, i got sick w/ my zero insurance. Even lost contact w/ many friends. I dont see how this company can be looked at as anything but fraud. They are sooo very vague w/ everything, and will never be truthful or honest. The leaders are like machines that belong in some insane house. None which have a clue about reality.

I dont see where these millions and early retirement opportunity comes from. Not many people get it. Maybe 1 out 20,000 they hire. They say u'll earn $500-600 a week average. Not in my office, the best did that. The ones that stuck around. Everyone else made nothing close to that. I got screwed over by my boss. 2 months after leaving i've still only received $195 of my total money. If i do out the math i made $4 dollars a day, not an hour, yes a day... working for this terrible company. I gave this line of work a shot, but its not for me, or most people. Our office average may have been about $200 a week... but probably less.

I call cydcor constanly trying to get my pay check, but w/ all my issues i went through cauz of this company i was forced to move home. The office isnt in its same location anymore, and i have no office phone to call. Cydcor couldnt care less about its employees cauz if they did i would have gotten paid the rest of my money by now. There are others like me waiting for money. Any ideas for what we can do, respond to this.

All i can say is the line of crap they put us through makes me know that this could be the worst company on the planet. They ripped my life in florida away and made me broke cauz i couldnt adopt this machine mentality, and give them my life.

Sorry jerk offs, but i'm 23 and i've got a lot of life to live, not slave away in your claws of death!

Dont work for cydcor, they'll rip you off and destroy your life. One last thing... Door to door sales men making millions and retireing at the age of 30?? That'll be the day. Not in this life time luzers. Have fun living your crummy lives.

I think i speak for all ex-employees from cydor w/ this. Your company f-ing sux! Your corruption is wide spread and i cant wait for the day your company is forced to close for having such a terrible reputaion around the planet!!!!

Thank you for the "opportunity" to be your slave!!!

Still making that $500-$700 that you were claiming??? Did you ever check the web site I told you to go check?? Come on Shannon, I want you to defend your company, I want a good laugh right now

This is to Jeff & Shannon (well everyone), But first Jeff, I am really sorry for what happened to you. I, too, nearly lost my fiance during my 8 months with Cydcor. Thankfully he stuck around, but I'll tell you what I DID lose; Financial Stability, 23,000 miles on my car, my apartment, 21 lbs bc I couldnt afford to eat since I was feeding 4 Days of O a week, and oh yea... I lost my pride. Here's what I gained; 4,000+ dollars in debt, a trip to Cancun, oops nevermind I actually found out AFTER the trip that my previous two paychecks paid for it, poeple yelling at me all day, and a kick to the curb for "causing waves in the company". You want to hear my story? Read the first article on this website from Anthony in Glen Burnie... I realized that I trained this guy, and responded. Jeff, sue their pants off. It has been just over 6 months and I am now suing Madison Marketing Group for $4,000+. why you ask? Because when I left the company the owner just decided she shouldnt pay me for the last month and a half/5 days a week/12 hours a day schedule that I slaved. And within one month she sent me on two road trips 6 hours from home- which I had to pay for myself! Hotel, gas, food, maps, etc... and THIS IS CALLED "INVESTING IN YOUR BUSINESS". First lesson poeple: the more personal money you put out for this job, the more likely you will be promoted. This is how you're brainwashed. I dont think all that techno music and chanting did anything for me bc I never participated. I thought everyone was crazy. Here IS what worked: You get this crummy job, no insurance, no expenses paid, unequipped in a hostile environment of pissed off customers, and a 70/hr week work schedule with the promise that in 6 months you get your own company... BUT you have to be the hardest working person in that office, and that you know. AHA! See? Then you have 30+ poeple competing against eachother to see who can slave the hardest. They put in your mind that this is some American Idol dream that you have to sweat for and the rewards are good and for two hours every morning reverbiate these non-existant rewards. So you go out into the field thinking to yourself "you have to keep going, work harder, take control" until you pass out. You're a robot. Forget it... I was the hardest working person in my office. I slaved. I lost everything and blindly put my faith in the system. When I discovered wrong-doings - including myself doing the wrong- I was kicked out for- again- "causing waves". I was threatened several times by my previous employer that if I pursued the commissions owed to me, she would take LEGAL action against me? Seriously... am I stupid? Well, obviously, because I worked there for 8 months. Thats what she must be thinking. But to make such an empty threat actually thinking that would scare me away from remembering the $4000+ dollars she owes me??? I have a lawyer + 8 previous employees as depositions and she has one month to pay me. Otherwise this goes to district court. Calling Cydcor headquarters does NOT work. They have poeple who are hired to specifically work on these cases and give you the run-around and say "we are working on this". My advise, since you say you got your money back. Call the local news station. I'm sure Cydcor along with Bell South, AT&T and UPS wouldn't mind being covered on the local news on how corrupt they are. Shannon: Good Luck.

get out before you make some serious mistakes and loose all your money, family, friends, car, house!

I really don't know what you're claiming.(What are you claiming? Your office is Legit???) Maybe this line of work isn't for the new at heart to sales. I started with car-sales and then timeshare. You want hard, try starting with one of those. (If it was hard, why did you stay as long as you did? Also I hated cydcor, why would I try something worse? If it really is worse, which I doubt!) The second interview is to let you know what the average day is like for a sales rep. If you didn't like it, why did you take the job? (Because I was basically unemployed. Working for $6.35 isn't anything. When LIED to and promised millions, I figured to give it a shot. Who would imagine I would take a job to LOOSE money! You work to make money after 45 days what did I have? A dead car, $4000 in bills, and $194 total dollars paid to me! What an opportunity!!! What is that, a profit of negative $3806 dollars? And it's not just me which got screwed Go to DSMAXTHEAFTERMATH.com! They have like a thousand people who have joined to talk about how it is truly the worst company in the world) I actually am doing pretty good and I'm not even a leader. I've worked for about two weeks on my own with them and average $500-$700 dollars a week. (Yeah right!, the leaders in my office were there for over a year and maybe would be lucky to con others for $450 a week.. Anyone new was lucky to make $200, working 70+ hours!) This past week for example, I made $556 and it would have been more but had a client tell me to come back next week when they had additional telephone lines put in.(OH, OK! They were just trying to get rid of your sorry a*s with out being rude and hoping that you don't come back, because then they will get rude!) Last week, I made $667. I peddle Bellsouth and it's been the easiest thing that I've had to sell ever. They don't have to come out of pocket unless they want new lines or DSL added. Our office averages $9000 dollars a week, pays out $5000 in wages, about a grand in operating expenses(What, umm????) and profits $3000, and I'm in Knoxville, TN of all places. (Must be a BIG office! Must have some juiced up liars! Also I thought you said that you've been there just 2 weeks. How would you know this? Just like your boss I'm sure brags about their 6 figure income which is really like $25,000 AT MOST!!!!) The pay plan forwards 80% up front and then the other 20% to cover if a deal goes sour.(These #'s aren't right My AWESOME office held 50% of it. I wish I received 80%) It's so they don't have to have chargebacks. If you don't know what a chargeback is, listen. (LISTEN?!?, I love the way you say it I know right there, you're an idiot!) Get paid for something and if it cancels, the company takes back your commission on that past sale. Any commission sales job takes a while for you to get a pay check. I worked for Fairfield resorts and it took about 4 1/2 weeks to get me my first one.(Try about 15 weeks for me and you wonder why I'm pissed?!? 15 weeks with out a pay check, who can survive like that?!?!) Any sales job takes time to get into the groove and you just have to stick it out to get the wheel going.(I feel like I'm listening to my leader talk again! This is the crap you tell people in their first week so they don't quit! and I'm NOT buying it, looser!) Once it does go it pays out pretty good.(Actually once I did get paid, I only received of what was owed to me Their way to give one final slap in the face) Our philosophy at our office is to maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethical business practices. (CYDCOR??? Oh I'm going to vomit now! Please don't talk about Cydcor in the same sentence as the words integrity and ethical ewww, anything but.Cydcor doesn't know the first thing about integrity) That's probably why we are doing so well. When people look at us at their offices, it's like they have their own Bellsouth rep there. (Well now did you sleep through your training or something?? That was one of the first things I learned that we were not to be looked at as a Bell South rep! We were in and out, please them while there, but never go back once you've closed them. And never give out your cell phone or leave any business cards. Also they don't think of you as a rep, they look at you the same way you look at telemarketers! Your nothing but a peon low life scum, and going no where but down with them! You ever wonder why so many people slam the door in your face? Is that because they look at you as their Bell South Rep?!?) If you're new to the world of sales or are considering another sales job, it's like this where ever you go. If you don't like it, leave.( I DID LEAVE!!! And No its not the way they all run!!! IF so, there would be no more door-to-door jobs out there anymore! The reputation of ALL sales jobs would have been wide spread by now if it were This b/s is just cydcor/granton/innovage/ds max or what ever the hell they decide to call their B/S company!) Shannon - Knoxville, Tennessee (I doubt you're a bad person, you just work for a bad company! I hope you see this soon and get out before you make some serious mistakes and loose all your money, family, friends, car, house! Get out while you can) http://groups.msn.com/DSMAXTheAftermath Just like the Matrix, you take the red pill (ignore me) and you go home and live another TERRIBLE DS MAX day!! Or you can take the blue pill (blue link to the left) and you can see just how deep the rabbit hole really is!!! Your choice, choose wisely!

some possibilities on how to get your money...

#7UPDATE EX-employee responds

Thu, October 30, 2003

I worked for two Cydcor offices for a total of about 14 months and I know what you are dealing with. I had some issues with getting money owed to me as well. I did not though, have to deal with the office that owed me money up and leaving as in your situation. If you know who the manager was, you could just look on monster.com or whatever job ad site the company posts its positions on. even if they moved they sure as hell are still hiring. Since you worked there for a while, I am sure you know what to look for so that is one way to track them down. Another way may be to call Cydcor Corp. headquarters, they gave me the run around when I tried to get info about certain offices so this may not be the best way to go. The phone number is 818.706.9500 I got that right off their website, I would give it a shot. Just be discreet...tell them you are moving there and had an interview but when you went they weren't there and you need to find out where they went. They ask for your name so be prepared with what you are going to say to them...it just may work.\ I was screwed over by these people for a long time and I hope you get your money. Either way you are better off for now working with them anymore. good luck!!
