I bought a D-Link cable modem (model DCM-202) at Fry's electronics and sent the rebate form for $20 the third week of Jan '06 to the given address. They told me that status was supposed to be available online 4 weeks after they received the rebate form. I've been waiting for more than 10 weeks and was unable to locate my rebate, I guess forever. During that time, I made a bunch of calls to them and was always put on hold for more than 15 minutes to reach someone who could only say "you might need to wait for a couple of weeks" or "we are so sorry for that" or "we received millions of rebate forms a day, so we can't send you an email". I bet they all were trained to do the customer service like that. Good outcome from the training, huh!!! Actually, they told me to resumitt the copies to another office. I did. But 4 weeks later, none of the rebates I've sent could be "pulled out". I don't think my rebate didn't reach them since on the same day, I also sent one rebate to another company and they got it. Plus, how about the resubmission? Also lost in mailing?

I don't trust in D-Link anymore. I'm posting this message as a warning to those who are going to buy D-Link products with rebate offers. Keep away from them otherwise you or the post office will be responsible for failing to claim the rebates. They are outstanding in passing the buck to others. Great job, D-Link!!!
