I applied for a $99.99 rebate in January '08. I was supposed to receive a check within 4-6 weeks. Instead, 6 weeks later, I received a card requesting further proof of purchase even though I meticulously followed the submission requirements from the beginning. I did send the extra proof and waited another 6 weeks. I still did not have my check, so I called the rebate department. I was told that everything was in order and I would be receiving my check within 4 weeks. I waited 6 weeks before i called again. At this point, I voiced my frustration when I was again told that I would be receiving my check in 4 weeks. At first, the rep told me that she would not be able to expedite my check. When I complained some more, she said she would expedite it and I would receive it in 15 days. I waited 4 weeks before I called yet again and was told that I would be receiving my check in 4 weeks. At this point, I became rather infuriated and asked to speak to a supervisor. He told me that he would personally make sure my check was mailed the next business day. He said that I could expect it to be in my mailbox in 5-7 business days. That was about 15 business days ago. I have not received my check. According to D-Link's rebate inquiry site, my rebate in still on the second step of 4 "(1. resubmission, 2. processing, 3. check approved, 4. check mailed). I can't believe a word D-Link's customer reps. say to me anymore. I am wasting my time calling them just to hear lies and lip-service. So, I am taking a different route and contacting every organization I can to make others will be aware of D-Link's ludicrous ethics.
