You leave some important information out. Was this a new or used vehicle? It sounds as if it was a used vehicle. If that is the case, and the vehicle is past the 3yr/36k mile warranty period, and there was no extended warranty purchased, then you're totally out of luck and while the Daimler-Chrysler employee was rude and lacked common sense on dealing with a customer, what they said was basically true. Not their problem. If the vehicle is new, or the failure occured under the manufacturers warranty period, then they are responsible. Even with an extended warranty, the brakes might not be a covered item, pending on the type of extended warranty. If it is a powertrain warranty, they would not be covered. Dodge transmissions seem to be pretty low on lifespan. Goes for all DC vehicles. The trannies in caravans, trucks, cars.. All of them just don't seem to last. The fact that you have been through three suggests that either you have had this vehicle for quite some time, or you need to find someone else to do your repair work on the transmission.
