Complaint Review: Daisy Gambit Booking - Jacksonville Florida

Mr. Dan Feder, proprietor of un unlisted compnay with no posted business address called Daisy Gambit Booking has attempted to extort a refund for services rendered from the 23 years old Los Angeles Music Awards and its parent company Phoenix Music Awards LLC. The dispute centers around an event that was affiliated with our organization but has no direct connection to us. Mr. Feder is THE ONLY party out of the nearly 1,000 satisfied patrons we had in 2012 to attempt to commit this type of fraud against us this year.

Daisy Gambit Booking accepts fees from gullible and unsuspecting artists that believe Mr. Feder can get them on tour, place them on television, get them paid gigs, and possibly even get them a recording contract contract with a major record label. The only thing Mr. Feder does do is play middle man to artists looking for exposure opportunities and then try and make himself some money at the expense of other peoples businesses like ours. We have produced quality events in Hollywood for the past 23 years and there are thousands of artists who want to be a part of our 3 very legitimate awards programs. Dan Fder accepted up front "consulting fees" from 2 artists this year at an inflated price and then paid our marketing and publicity company a fee of $650 for one artist after he took $1,000 from that artist. Another artist paid him $3,000 for which he paid us $1,500 to promote that artist as well. We delivered the following for each is his artist referrals:

1. Placement of their music on our multiple web sites.

2.4 song Performances at our Nominee Night Press Event at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood on Thursday, June 14th, 2012.

3. Placement of the artists names in our print ad in Music Connection Magazine and ALL of our online promotional materials on Facebook, My Space, You Tube, etc.

4. Placement of the artists names in our press releases put out by EMR Media. (www.emrmediamedia.net)

5. Placement of both artists names on our 2012 voting ballot in multiple categories.

6. A bonus gig that WAS NOT OUR OWN PRODUCTION in Las Vegas called the Indie Music Fest. Only one artist accepted the gig however. Mr. Feder begged for this show, even though we told him again and again it not ours and that we did not trust the producers of this event that they could deliver the way can for own events.

7. Four complimentary tickets for our 22nd Annual Red Carpet event for each artist.

Never the less, Mr. Feder got what he wanted for his artists, at least up until the one and only event they actually participated in with us that is our own production. The Indie Music Fest IS NOT NOW, nor has it ever been a Los Angeles Music Awards event.

Our event structure is based solely on active participation by the artists it serves. It requires that artists actually attend each of the 3 events we produce every year. It is madatory that we be able to communicate directly with our nominees and performers, something Daisy Gambit would not allow us to do. On September 27th, 2012, the annual voting event was held at the Whisky A Go-Go.  Neither of Daisy Gambit's artists showed to even cast a vote for themselves. They had free admission to this event as they did to our main event, but they were no shows at both. This is not our fault, it is theirs.

Daisy Gambit is now claiming that we failed to deliver what was promised and is attempting to extort, yes, I said EXTORT, a refund from us for the full amount that we received, or $2,150, more than half of which went to produce the very events his artists were supposed to attend and be active participants in. His claim however, centers around the Indie Music Fest, an event that he KNOWS was not our own production. We have lots of emails going back and forth in this regard that make it clear that we had very little to do with the production of this event. His artists were a part of our annual awards program in LA, which is what our transaction was originally supposed to be about.

This man cannot be trusted. He is not in the music industry. He is not based in Hollywood or LA. He is not a member of any reputable organizations in Los Angeles or Hollywood. He is not known in the community on the Sunset Strip or the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Daisy Gambit Booking is not a legitimate business and is run by someone who is from OUTSIDE the entertainment business. In the City of Los Angeles, Mr. Feder's business model is a criminal enterprise and would get him prosecuted under the Krekorian Talent Scam Prevention Act of 2009. In Florida, he can get away with what he is doing, but not here. We expect to prevail in this dispute and must warn any one who reads this NOT TO DO business with Daisy Gambit Booking.
