Unlike machines in Nevada or Atlantic City, games at Indian casinos are largely unregulated. Unlike NV, where the gaming commission mandates minimum payout levels to be programmed into the chips, most indian casinos can do whatever they like. Nevada's minimum allowable payout for any machine is 75%. NV casinos that advertised higher payouts (90-98%) at the site are required by law to abide by that and are continiously checked by the Gaming Commission. Atlantic City's minimum is above 80% and is also checked by their gaming authorities. Contrary to that, indian casinos in most states have no regulations regarding minimum payouts. They can program the machines to payout next to nothing. Take two identical machines, one in Vegas and one on a reservation and you will get vastly different results. They may look identical, but the difference is all in the randomizer chip that's installed inside. One may pay back 90% of what it takes in and the other may pay back 55%. Big difference. Due to the lack of regulation, I will not put a nickel in an indian casino machine.
