Dan Lawrie Insurance Company another ripoff? cancelling our home insurance Dli@hamilton Ontario
we feel we are victim's of an insurance scam. we have just been advised by our insurance broker dan lawrie that our insurance company has sent a registered letter advising us we are being cancelled with 14 days for non compliance. as in your other report #177810 we have been out of the country for 4 months, we advised the broker by phone and by fax who to contact in our absence. we did not give them an e mail address at the time as we did not have internet connection then. there were inspections done at our properties, (3) we did get a report before we left canada on one of the properties, repairs were done and reported back to the insurance company, for that property. our contact person who does the repairs was never advised of any other work to be done. my sister by chance opened up a letter on or about march 10Th sent to our home address, this letter was dated Feb 27Th 09 letting us know of repairs to be done by mar 13 or our policy would be cancelled, we contacted them immediately, telling them they were to send all this info to our property maintenance person as stated in our fax dated October 30Th/08 he never received anything in fact they deny having this fax or receiving any phone calls from us. they also said they tried to reach us by e mail to kingbob @sympatico .ca. they were never given an e mail address from us we have never had simpatico as our server. we suggested that they must have some files mixed up and that they should sort this out, and contact the insuring company to let them know it was there error not ours. we are still out of the country (central america) not able to do too much from here and our insurance coverage will be cancelled before we arrive home in april. our contact person fil claims to be sick this week and not able to do anything till later in the week, we have kept copies of our correspondence with him also suggested that this urgent matter be passed on to his superiors in his absence, we have not heard from any one. any information or help would be appreciated
