Overcharging people all the time is typical for these guys. They have what
appears to be cheaper repair rates that turn into a "you get what you pay
for" cliche and you end up paying more in the long run.

I
live in the boonies and these guys are like a block away so I have been
forced over the years for various reasons to use their services. The
last time I used them I had a distinctive and loud click in my front
end last year
and Kerry said that my rack needed replacement. After paying around $400
and pulling
out on the road, the exact same click was still there! Pulled back in
immediately, another guy drove it, heard the same noise, came back and
put it up on lift.15 min later he came back with a small
rock in his hand which was lodged in part of front end suspension
somewhere causing the noise. I looked at Kerry with contempt asked him
asked why he replaced rack when it was a freakin' rock! And he or his
dad retort: "Oh no it was bad I saw
it." Drove car away and distinctive click was completely gone. Paid $400
for
a rock.
I have a whole list of stuff from these guys that I documented in a word
doc
somewhere. I'll have to find it. A couple other things I remember off
the top
though: Nick used shrink wrap around some brake light wires years ago
after
finally finding a short and he cooked them to the point where by the
time they
failed it was several months later and I had to fix it myself. They were
fried
pretty bad so I had to splice a few of them. Another was my transmission went out and Kerry (owners son) found one used for $300 w/ another $200 for labor. The car ran PERFECTLY
besides
the transmission. When I picked it up, it was missing like crazy, would not idle, and in general was not drivable. I turned around immediately and asked the owner, Gene, to
look at it. I didn't know if someone knocked a wire or vacuum hose loose
or
whatever but I told him it ran great when I came in. Gene looks at it
for a bit
and decides that my valves are bad (just like that). I got so pissed I
left the
car there for at least two or three years before they finally scrapped
it. The
list goes on and on.
