I contacted Deborah Whitcraft about a year ago to hire her to officiate my wedding. She offered to perform the ceremony for free because my husband is active duty military, however refused to travel to a locaction closer to me despite being offered reimbursement for gas and tolls. About 2 weeks before my wedding, my father contacted a family friend who's a judge who offered to perform the ceremony. Since she was located in my town I agreed to take her offer.

I emailed Deborah letting her know I no longer needed her services and when I didn't hear back, assumed that was the end  of our agreement. The day of the wedding I received a few voicemails from her inquiring as to my locatiom. She finally realized I wasn't coming and decided to send me several nasty and harassing emails. She told me I was bullshitting her and even said she hoped my husband had changed his mind about marrying me. I finally had to block her because she refused to stop, despite being told to not contact me. I would have made this sooner, but only recently got an email from a moderated at weddingwire.com asking me for proof of a buisness agreement with Deborah (due to my one star review of her)

I did contact Deborah about canceling the wedding, it's not my fault she doesn't check her email. Who cares what the fees for the wedding go to? She turned down the chance to actually get paid for a wedding she offered to do at no charge. Seems stupid to me. Harassment in some cases does require police intervention. She keeps saying I'm unhappy with my life yet she doesn't even know me!We spoke on the phone not even 3 times and the rest were emails, the majority of which were telling her to stop contacting me. I really don't know how you can judge someone for that. She talks like a high school student trying to make herself sound better than someone she dislikes. "I'm too busy marrying couples" "I have a life" well she's responded to every rebuttle I've made so she can't be all that busy. She just assumes I made this report because I don't have a life, or that my life is just so dull and unfulfilling compared to the exciting life of a wedding officiant/museum curator. All I'm trying to do is steer people away from an adult woman who thinks that harassing and insulting people gets them to agree with her and admit fault. Sorry, it doesn't work that way, might want to work on changing that in the future. I actually pity her, if her business was doing as well as she said it is, she wouldn't be concerned with one negative review. Instead she continues to insult me and put the blame on me. My husband and I (yes we're married, if she doesn't like that too bad) are both happy with our life together.

Sad that this woman seems consumed with this;  not having met this person, I am grateful that I'm not responsible for having joined her in marriage to some unsuspecting man.  Again, my condolences to him, if he is still married to her.  To even mention that her brother is a police officer is so juvenile;  I was a police commissioner for 10 years and never found it necessary to invoke such an association with an issue unrelated to law enforcement.  Pathetic isn't the word for this woman. I have married over 2,500 couples in the past 20 years and never had a problem until now.  I am much too busy officiating to waste any more time on someone who is clearly unhappy with her life.  I continue to provide free services to active miliary men and women and take great pleasure in my job.  Additionally, all wedding officiant fees are paid to a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit museum to enable its volunteer staff to cover its expenses.  Her failure to apologize for not contacting me about her decision to cancel was inexcuseable on her part.  I am much too busy to waste any more time on such pettiness.  She truly needs to get a life.

Still trying to blame the customer

Deborah just keeps trying to make me out to be the guilty party here. I fail to see how I was a "Bridezilla". Her website states she traveles and when she refused to travel, I didn't bring it up again. I spoke to her on the phone twice, the other times I contacted her were by email to arrange the date and time. All of my emails were polite and professional, unlike hers. She's a grown woman and apparently when things don't go her way, she attacks an insults people she doesn't even know. That behavior is more suitable for a teenager. She's lucky she decided to insult me by email. My brother is a police officer and was ready to tell her if she didn't stop he would be filing a report on her. She knows I canceled her services and can't deal with the fact that things happen.

#5REBUTTAL Individual responds

This woman is delusional; anyone who doesn't have the decency to notify an officiant who's been booked to perform a service for which she is no longer needed is despicable. I have been doing this for many years and have yet to encounter a bridezilla of such low caliber as this. Not worth my time. My condolences to her husband. Perhaps blaming me for her failure to do the right thing makes her feel better about herself!
