Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Let me help anyone thinking they want to use DSA for debt settlement make an informed decision. This company claims to help lower your actual debt but settling debts for you. They do charge you a fee, which they faithfully take from your account every month.

From the very beginning they tell you not to answer any phone calls from places you owe money to. They claim that most debts usually take years to actually come to court, etc...So we followed their advice and did not answer phone calls. They were endless. I hated this. The years that they explain it takes to actually have to deal with these debts will allow you time to build up the cash, and then when you have thousdands of dollars in there they can start the negotiation process for you to lower your debt.

Well, we had 3 places we needed to settle with and immediately and I mean "immediately" we were called by lawyers for these credit cards, and almost immediately we were also taken to court. All of which they said rarely ever happens....they knew this would happen and they lied about how long it takes. This is where I figured out they make their money. They tell you it takes usually years till you have to go to court or have them settle and meanwhile they are still faithfully taking money out of your account. We told them about now having to appear in court. They said they tried to negotiate with the creditors and lawyers and never with much luck. We went to court and we found that we were actually able to lower drastically our payments and waive intereset rates. We did this ourselves....with no help from them. We made endless phone calls to them of which almost all they were neither in, in a meeting, would get back to us, etc....even online a "live" chat operator was not available.

After months and months of them taking our money and absolutely no help from DSA, we decided to end our contract (since we were doing all the work ourselves) at a considerable loss to us. Their very claim to help get us out of debt put us more in debt due to the fact that they were still taking their money out faithfully every month. So we ended the contract and were due money back...a portion mind you, not all. We have been fighting them for months to even get that money back. No one is ever available, in a meeting, the check they thought went out, it's being reviewed, you name it they've come up with it. About the only time you will actually talk with someone is initially to get your account # and contract and money, and if you do not have money in there for them to take out, but good luck on trying to reach them otherwise. If we had ended the contract and not mentioned the refund, they would NEVER have refunded our money back.

This has been an absolute nightmare. We gave them nearly $9,000 for them do absolutely nothing. I wished we had known before we had done business with them, bu tnow you can. They lie to you from the very beginning and continue to lie through the process and remember you pay them for nothing!!!

I signed up with DSA in October 2008, and they helped me settling 4 of my cards at 17.5% I just can't belive they didn't call you back or respond. I always get hold of my rep and the negotiator that is working with my creditors. Even if the remaining 6 do not settle, I am much better off having trusted DSA, which I promise, has been very tough. I had 10 cards I had to stop paying on due to employment and health reasons.
