Deck Unlimited Michael P Nelson Shoddy workmanship, everthing he did had to be pulled and repaired by another constractor. Illinois
This guy ran an ad in the Daily Herald. After calling many other deck people, all being too busy to come for estimate, this guy was not busy. Now I know why!!! He was to put Azek deck around a pool area. He is EXTREMELY unprofessional, as was the guy he brought with him. When I questioned him about the way he was installing the boards, he says to me "do you want it to be right or to look good'? I said BOTH!!! they put some boards under pool support, some over, boards we cut short and he put small pieces of fillers in where he couldnt figure out how to deck. He left a mess when he showed up, which was sparingly!!!
He would come for two hours and say "we have to go chase some wood'?? WHAT? Why didnt he know how much material to order in the first place. He charged me for framing, which he didn't do. I know that now as I had to remove the whole deck he installed, wasting over $5,000 of decking!!! My new contractor showed me where he did NO framing to support new decking.
All the repairs to deck have been completed today, and it looks great. Now I know what it should have looked like in the first place, had it been done correctly.
This guy has the carpentry skills of a kindergartner!!! He has an attitude, and will NOT listen if you tell him something is wrong.
I have never seen anything like this guy, and have been a home owner in the same home for 30 years.
Do not hire, you will be sorry!!!
