You all aren't alone in your frustrations with Dell. I just created an online petition to try and show Dell that we will no longer deal with their B.S. If you've purchased a notebook from Dell and suffered from any of the following issues, please sign and forward on to your friends for their signature as well: Motherboard problems, power jack problems, battery not charging, not working on AC power, overheating, mysteriously turning off for no apparent reason... Please forward it on, let Dell know WE MEAN BUSINESS!! I just read your post, Dell has ripped us off over 1,000 dollars on a 6,000 dollar laptop. we are taking them to court also. and what a coincidence I am from ohio! I appreciate what you wrote because that further provides evidence to out completed investigation that seems to never end. Get in contact with me if you want because I have your problem plus many many many other very illegal things dell has done, Im sorry to hear that you have gone through that because that is one of the many problems we have right now with them. We ordered an xps m1710 at the end of October and my entire experience dealing with them for a 6,000 dollar laptop that never worked since the first day i got it, is now completly ruined by their dell technicians that came and replaced my motherboard. By the way, if you use your computer (the one you actually purchased) I find it crucial that you back up whatever important information you have on your computer and wipe out your computer and DO NOT REINSTALL ANY DELL SOFTWARE. just install the drivers needed so your hardware will work. They put a keylogger onto my computer that cost my social security number to be released and used and not to mention other serious incidents because i am a college student, but also my dads stocks were at risk also. Then i find out a couple of days ago into the investigation that my computer had 2 additional spyware preinstalled on the computer! Trust me man we are taking care of dell with the best lawyers we know, not even that, we could have the worst lawyer in the world and our evidence speaks for itself, dont worry our case is a very big one. i really empthatize for you, hope things work out for you. and hopefully our case will help out others.
