Dell Computers RIPOFF Deceptive Practices Carol Stream Illinois
Dell sent mean email offering me a preferred account with no interest if paid off by 2007. Against I better judgment I responded. I applied for an account online and it stated they needed additional information.
I was immediately phoned by Dell Computers and after explaning why there was a fraud report on my credit reports I was approved with a $1500 credit limit.
I went to Dell's website and ordered 2 Dell Inspiron laptops. One for me and one for my wife. Total was $1448.78 with free shipping and payments of $44.00 a month. It still said no interest if paid off by 2007.
We received the laptops in about a week.
I received my first statment after a month. No interest listed. Ballance $1448.78. Payment $44. I sent $50.
Got my new statement today. Balance $1471.60. Other charges $12.69. (Payment Protection which I agreed to....no problem.) Interest $60.13.
I called Dell financial services at 1-800-283-2210. To say they were not helpful is an understatment. They don't speak very good English and when I asked to speak to someone who does he insulted my English.
I asked to speak to his supervisor.
Four supervisors later I was speaking to someone who claimed he was an American working in Texas and that he was the last stop. That there was no one above him.
Their stories were all the same. I didn't qualify for the no interest deal and that I was told so when I signed up. (A lie.)
That there was nothing they could do.
That I was stuck.
I've filed a complaint with the FTC for Deceptive Practices and hope everyone else who is a victim of these scam does likewise.
Also I hope that a Class Action Suit is brought against Dell for thsi.
