Considering buying a Dell laptop? Don't! When you need technical assistance, you will be sorely disappointed. Sure, they make it look like support is available, but their support is worse than no support at all. I have a Dell Inspiron 9300, Dell Wireless adapter & Dell Printer. The wireless adapter is a joke. It won't work, they can't fix it & no one speaks enough English to be understood. Dell apparently is short for "Delhi", their technical support location. If you allow their technical support people to access your PC in order to correct a problem, stand by for more major problems and the original problem will still be there. I finally gave up on support. After spending countless hours (actually days) with their support and no resolution, they still won't send a technician out to correct their problem. I do have an in home warranty and an extended warranty. That was a useless purchase.

Hello HP, IBM or anyone else. They will get my business in the future.

I've had a few Dells in my time. One of them just died. I guess that happens eventually to anything electronic, but it died after just three years. I take good care of my PC's and I thought that was a short life span for the thing. I do agree with you about their tech support. My PC was powering up and then shutting off again after a few seconds and it turned out the hard drive fizzled out. It was still under warranty and it was a complete nightmare to get them to honor it. I called Delhi, um sorry, Dell Tech support and they kept trying to wear me down and made me do all these things with the computer. I kept telling them I can't because it kept shutting down after a few seconds. After about seven phone calls (about one hour apiece), I finally got them to agree to give me a new hard drive. The guy they sent out was apparently some independent contractor, (who arrived an hour early throwing my schedule completely off in a rusty red pick up truck puffing on a cigarette in absolutely filthy clothes) and he just threw some old REFURBISHED hard drive in my tower and left. No software, support or anything. I can't believe with this type of customer service this company is a big as it is.
