If gas is $4.00 a gallon the service fee is 8 cents a gallon. So some stations DO have a 'cash price' AND a 'credit price', and BOTH should be posted. I saw a station with a $3.83 / gal price plus a $3.63 / gal REBATE price, but you had to use their CC to get the rebate. And I am sure there were limits on how much rebate you could get in a month. Some stations have STOPPED accepting CC's for gas purchases- cash only.

You have to watch where some of these rip off companies "locate" the various grades, on their pumps. You would expect for the lowest grade to be on the left, the mid-grade in the center and the premium on the right. Not so. I've found some stations putting premium in the "center" and one station put the mid-grade on the left, the premium in the center and low-grade on the right. IF you don't pay attention, you could be fooled by where they located them.

especially by the habib stations is to post the 'cash' sales price but it is different if you use a CC. Maybe this is what happened to you and your wife?
