Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

First let me start off by saying that I worked for this company for 20 years so I know what I'm talking about. I started working for this company in 1994 as a salesman and awarded every award given. I left a few times to explore other positions and came back the last time in Febuary 2014. Over the years I was The Manager and recruiter.

I since moved to PA.and worked for many Kirby Distributors with no results due to very poor working conditions. I was in need of work and I loved the Kirby Cleaning System so I called the Company in Eatontown,NJ where I started in 1994. I was willing to travel 5.5 hours round trip to help recruit new sales people for this company based on my salary and comm. and over rides.

One week on pay day I was to receive x ammount of dollars. The owner Dennis Yurcisin tried to lie to me about my over rides as to no unvail, because I know what I was to be paid.   He told me that I had no pay comming to me because non of my trainees sold any thing. Much to the surprise to him that I knew that I did based on me talking to a few of the people I trained.

After all the years that I gave my heart and soul to not only DENCO DISTRIBUTORS but to THE KIRBY COMPANY, I WILL NEVER RECCOMEND ANY BODY WORKING FOR THE KIRBY COMPANY.

BEWARE WHEN YOU SEE ADS ON CRAIGSLIST OR ANY OTHER SITE THAT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I can write a book on Kirby scams and it would be a best seller!!

DO NOT WORK FOR THE KIRBY COMPANY!!!!

ALL DISTRIBUTORS ARE SCUM AND NOBODY SHOULD BE TREATED THAT WAY!!!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!

I stumbled upon this complaint while looking up the Denco phone number.  I was sold my Kirby by Gary Lingle approximately 10 years ago.  If anyone was good at lying, it was Gary.  I rue the day I fell for his line of crap and the anger bubbles to the surface every time I pull the 2-ton, million dollar vacuum out of the closet.

The first lie was when he told me HE was the owner of the distributorship.  He performed the complimentary carpet shampooing, told me it was guaranteed; if any of the stains that he removed reappeared, the vacuum would be FREE.  Yeah, stupid me, I didn't get that in writing and of course, the stains reappeared.

Then, he told me the motor was 2 horsepower, or something like that, that the competitors, i.e. Oreck, Dyson, were going under/out of business.  He even showed me a "copy" of the article stating same.  PS, they did NOT go under and he probably "created" the article to use in his sales pitch.  He told me he would throw in the beater bar for hardwood floors since we planned on getting rid of some of the carpeting in our house.  I pulled it out recently to use on our new hardwood floors and it's not even for the model that I have...didn't fit!  I'm sure he figured he'd be long gone by the time I would be using it.

He bullsh#%ed his way through the entire transaction and I fell for it hook, line and sinker.

SO, karma baby, KARMA!

I agree fully. The company misrepresented the nature of the job from the inception. I was truly hopeful that I would make money at thie position, and did not. Also, Dennis would force me to give discounts on the product so that he would make his full commission, whil I made the BARE MINIMIUM possible. Furthermore, the 15 Kirby Showings that is expected of you in order to get your "Guaranteed Paycheck" is totally unattainable.  Likewise, he told me that at most I would be traveling 20-25 miles to get to a sale, but I would say the large majority of the sales calls I went on were an hour or more away. Dennis is a nice guy, but he knows how to work the system. He knows how to prey on the vunerable and economically downtrodden in order to make himself money. The turnover of salesmen speaks for itself. He is constantly posting ads on CraigsList looking for new candidates because NOBODY makes money except for Dennis. The positive to that job was the free donuts and horrible coffee that were put out every morning. The job is a scam. Dennis is a scam artist. Nobody makes money except for Dennis and he is self-serving.

I used to work for the company for a short period of time.  Yes the job was difficult at times but I would not go and say that they lied to me.  Also if you were there for 20 years and this was happening so offten why would you have come back?  Yes I left the company, but I was only there while on break from school.  Dennis never gave me a problem and even helped me get in the scholarship program and I'm looking to posibly go back over the summer because I had nothing bad to say about them.  There were definetly points where I could have been screwed over by the company but the owner would have done backflips if he thought it would help me out so I don't get where these acusations are coming from.
