Dentistry By Design Is The Biggest Scam Ever!Dentistry By Design rip off charges for unnecessary x-rays Portland Oregon
This dentist made me wait an hour for just a simple exam and cleaning even though I was actually ten minutes early for my appointment. I had to see their DVD add repeat about 20 times in their posh waiting room on veneers. When I asked how long the exam would take, she said one hour for the exam and one hour for cleaning. The staff was rude and the receptionist kept calling me "hon". I asked if we could skip the X-ray and go right to the cleaning because it was getting late and I had to get back to work. They refused, as they said their latest technology of X-rays was the best and it could be dangerous to clean my teeth without. That it is a scanning process and uses very low dose radiation.
I explained that my most recent X-rays were done by my previous dentist just six months prior and that I didn't have any issues at that time. She said she would talk to the dentist. The dentist refused to clean without X-ray.
After completing the paperwork, they handed me a waiver to sign explaining that their charges typically exceed insurance allowable reimbursements for services and that I would be responsible for any excess. There was no exact amount given on what this "excess" charge could be.
At this time, I told them that I was going back to my old dentist because their practice was something I was not comfortable with and simply walked out.
I left feeling that this dentist is solely out to rip people off. I'm glad after seeing the other complaint on this site that I didn't let this dentist touch my mouth.
