I ordered a free trial of the Derma Divine skin care products. I was fully aware that I would need to call and cancel my "trial" in the first 14 days if I wanted to avoid being billed full price (total of $170). Over a week had passed since I placed my free trial order and I had yet to receive my products. I called Derma Divine customer service, explaining I had not received my order. I was told there had been an issue with shipping, and an additional week would be added to my trial period, allowing me ample time to try the products. I was assured the products would arrive within the next few days. I received the product. I used them as directed by the manufacturer. They caused my skin severe irritation, to the point certain areas around my eyes were weepy and scabbed. These issues resolved as soon as I stopped using the product. I called Derma Divine customer service a second time, to cancel my trial, because I was still within the extended trial period, I actually had a few days to spare. I had the displeasure of speaking with the most vile customer service representitive ever. I told him I wanted to cancel my trial. He told me I couldn't do that, as it was after the initial 14 day period. I explained the shipping delay, and the basis of my first call to the company. He put me on hold while he checked my account information. He came back on the line and confirmed the date and time of my first call to the company, but refused to honor the 7 day extention the first customer service rep offered me. He told me that the only way to reverse the $170 charge that had already been applied to my debit card, that I would have to return the product, which required a RMA#. I then proceded to tell him about the product causing severe irritation to the skin around my eyes, that it caused the skin on the outer corners of both eyes to become very raw and irritated, very similar to a weepy blister, and had scabbed over. The irritation was so awful I was unabvle to wear any makeup on those areas for over a week after I had stopped using the product. I explained to the rep that I did not use very much of the product, that thew irritation presented almost immediately, that my product bottles were still FULL. I cited that even their terms and conditions stated that a refund could be issued of products were returned, that all I needed was an RMA#. The website was also very clear that returns without a valid RMA# would not be accepted. The rep refused to give me an RMA#. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was told there were no supervisors there at the time, then the story changed to the rep I was speaking to was "basically a supervisor" and no one else in the company could/would help me. I decided to take another route by contacting the financial institution that I bank with, that backs my debit card. I explained the situation to them, and requested a charge back be issued. This was nearly 3 months ago. Today I received notification that the charge back I requested would not be honored. I'm assuming because this company is still refusing to acknowledge the 7 day extension they so graciously offered to add to my trial period due to their "error" in shipping my product. I will be following up with my financial institution in the morning, I just wanted to document everything up to this point here, now. Hopefully my bank will see the error in their decision. If not I'm afraid I will have to solicit the federal consumer protection agency for assistance in getting my $170 back. I still have the unused portion of their horrible products, and am still willing to return them to the company, but not without obtaining a valid RMA# to send with them. These products are my only bartering tool in getting my money back. I hope my nightmare serves as a warning to anyone else that is tempted by their product claims. It would be one thing if the products actaully worked. But seeing as they don't live up to their claims AND they burned my skin, it's not worth the risk.
