Dermot O'Connor claims in his book "The Healing Code" that he cured himself of a very "severe" form of MS. This is a blatant untruth and extremely misleading - he merely had 2 minor sensory attacks! In addition, it is a well known fact that MS goes into remission for long periods of time, and that people can have one or two attacks and never have another in their lifetime.

Dermot also omits some vital factors. Firstly, detoxification - you need to cleanse the immune system first before you can rebuild and maintain it. There's nothing here about colon. liver or blood cleansing, or chelating to get rid of heavy metals + all his diet and vitamin suggestions are guesswork originated by him and not based on medical or scientific evidence + he is not a naturopathic doctor and does not therefore have the training to make such recommendations.

The author also omits the importance of chiropractic treatment and the fact that misaligned vertebra can often cause many of the symptoms of MS. The spine is the backbone of the nervous system and correcting it must therefore be part of the key to the cure.

Furthermore, some of his suggestions are downright ridiculous - you are not going to cure yourself of a serious illness by "punching a bag to get rid of your anger" or "imagining long blue roots extending from your feet into the earth"! Again, he tries to claim that these have a "psychological" origin and foundation, but he is not qualified in this field either. It is all very amateurish.

Dermot's "healing code" would be far more convincing if he had been more debilitated, eg wheelchair/mobility scooter-bound and recovered via his methods and/or included case histories of and testimonials from people who had been seriously debilitated by MS or other illnesses and recovered using his methods. And his exercises reflect this: they're really aimed at people who have minor illnesses or minor attacks of serious illnesses, rather than those who are disabled, and are not at all appropriate for people who are really severely afflicted with MS, so how are they supposed to use these in their recovery system?

At best this book has some useful tips, but it's far from being the holistic route back to health that it claims. Take out of it what you want/need and dump the rest, but please don't treat it as your bible.

No benefits for anyone but Dermot

I omitted to say that I tried Dermot's suggestion re acupuncture for months to no avail whatsoever. All it did was put a huge dent in my bank balance of 3000 and by the end of 50+ sessions I still had exactly the same mobility problem and couldn't bend or lift my right leg and needed help to get to and from the car.

The only person this book is beneficial for is Dermot. He profits off the back of it with seminars and workshops. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME!
