Complaint Review: Des Moines RV - Des Moines Iowa

In March 2015 I bought a new motorhome from Des Moines RV and declined thier offer for RV financing due to a several factors ( higher interest rate, more down required, shorter term) with Bank of America.  I arranged my financing with Community First Credit Union in Indianola, Iowa.  It took about four hours which included me physically driving to indianola to pickup the check. They were incredible to work with and suggest everyone use them.  

I paid for my motorhome and set out for a springbreak trip with my family.  After not recieving my license plates for approximately 45 days and getting ready for another trip I had to contact the dealership.  To my surprise they had not filed my paperwork or applied for my title.  I contacted Ashley at the dealership and voice my concerns and made arrangements to meet her directly at the motor vehicle department so i could pick up my plates and drive legally.  We met there and I noticed that the paperwork had the incorrect lien information on it and pointed it out to her.  She stated she would take care of it and I could leave.  

Approximatly the end of May 2015 i was contacted by my lender and was asked when they would recieve the title.  I was expressed my concern and contacted Ashley at Des Moines RV and asked where was the title for my RV?  She replied that it was just was sent to my lender due to the screw up on the title.  I relayed the information to my lender.  

i assumed it was handled until the end of June when my lender once again made contact wondering the status of my title.  I again reached out to Ashley at Des Moines RV and she apologized and promised she would get it taken care of immediately.

The End of July my lender once again called wondering the status of the title and I was shocked that it had not been handled.  I called Ashley at Des Moines RV and she insisted that the title was mailed to my lender.  I didn't trust her so I called the DMV only to find out that Bank of America was listed as the lien holder.  That was the company whose offer for financing that I rejected and then I found my own financing thru Community First Credit Union.  I called Ashley back and pointed it out.  She again apologized for the mistake and promised she would get it corrected immediately.  

The 15th of September my Lender once again called stating they were still waiting for the title.  I called Ashley at Des Moines RV  and asked her what the holdup was.  She stated she had not recieved the Title Back from Bank of America and was waiting on them.  I gave her my cell phone number for the 10th time and asked her if she could not reslove this quickly she should call me.  

I recieved no call from Des Moines RV and was contacted again the first week of October by my lender.  I have lost every shred of respect for these stupid and lazy people!  I drove to the dealership and demanded to see Ashley and she produced a one simple form from the DMV that needed my signature and it would be done.  I thought that even this incompetitant morrow could not screw this up.  I was wrong!  

Today 10/28/15 I was winterizing my motorhome and thought of all the troubles we have had with the title and decided to call my lender to make sure that they finally had the title.  My lender told me "no they still do not have a title but appreciate me making my payments without it!"  I called the dealership and completly lost every shred of self control I have ever had!  I went to my vehicle and removed all the wepons from it ( i hold a Concealed Carry Permit) and will heading to the dealership shortly.  I called Bank of America and after three calls got to the correct person to release the lein on my vehicle ;however they want $20 to release it.  I will taking all this information to the dealership with me and will make them work in front of me.  

Never underestimate the stupidity of people!!!!!  Buyer Beware
