I have worked as a freelance designer for DesignCrowd.com for 2 years. The company is at fault for a specific reason. Unlike other successful sites, this site does not place enough restrictions, or rules on their contest holders. Designers can wait for more than a year for decision and payment.
When a design contest is submitted, there is no timeline for the contest submitter to choose an entry. So, DesignCrowd makes them pay UPFRONT, then never makes them choose a winner. Therein, they make the money and NEVER pay a designer for it.
I have had over 20 designs submitted where a winner was never chosen. These contests are described as 'pending'. Which means they are waiting on a contest winner to be chosen. HOWEVER, these contests I am talking about have been 'pending' for over 1 year.
I think the company here has developed a problem and instead of discovering a solution, they are not doing anything.
I have contacted the company about this situation, and they say that the contest holders are not given a timeframe to choose the design winner. And on one other occasion I was told my problem would be looked into but never was.
We need to get to the bottom of this. I KNOW I am not the only one who is having this problem.
