my rating negative infinity. the owner is robert (bob) anderson. on the caller id his business comes up IND HOME TUBS. he also has the following LLCs: Detroit Kitchen Refacing LLC; Detroit Awnings LLC he is sick. i have a 97 yr. old grdma. i need to get things fixed for the house. i told the jerk he would just be dealing with me. he diagnosed the problem via the phone. he was ok on the phone prior to going to my grdm's house. at her house he was evil to me. he said "yea, the walls r bad in the shower. i already told u that over the phone". i asked him 2 questions nicely. he was a total AXX in response. he said "i thought ur grdma was going to be the difficult one, instead u r the bad one".
he starts talking to my grdma about doing a very expensive deal. i told him not to talk to her about that topic. she doesn't have the money for that renovation. i told him he needs to just talk to me. he says "no, i'm talking to ur grdma". told him "get out of the house now and i'm calling the police". called my grdma and he didn't even leave right away. he hung around for quite awhile. in fact, he stayed around enough to give her a sales presentation. he was hoping she would whip out her credit card, sign a contract, get a ton of money from her, etc. he is a scammer, evil, a pompous jerk, and a condescending jerk. the guy is sooooo stupid. he could of got work from me. if he would of treated me like a human being. instead he wants a bigger sale. he wants to take advantage of a 97 yr. old woman. he decided after 2 mins of small talk with my grdma that she was in perfect health.
so, he admitted he was a jerk to me. his reason - cuz he thought he should be selling to my grdma. yea, he wanted to take advantage of a 97 yr old. he will say "she didn't tell her grdma i was coming". yea, my grdm has issues. it NEEDS to be fixed, but she doesn't want it fixed. my grdma is in denial about it. i didn't want her nosy neighbor to be present. that is why i didn't give her notice. prior to initially calling the guy i saw that he is listed with the BBB. the one complaint is correct. the BBB doesn't do anything to a bad business. the BBB just sends e-mails back and forth (from consumer to the business, vice versa). DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING! i'm sure the nice owner will say some huge lie in response to this posting. he does that constantly to try and save his "TRUE" reputation.

all of the following r on google reviews. just google detroit tubs and google reviews. u'll c it all in front of ur eyes. u can c how the nice boy works. Doreen Schaar 8 reviews · 2 photos 3 months ago After paying $9000 and waiting 2 months for the work to be done I have to unfinished bathrooms and damage to trim and walls from their work. Bob told me to F off, yelled and eventually hung up on me and walked off the job when I tried to address the issues with him after repeated meetings about what still needed to be done. The jetted bathtub has a front panel that is held on by Velcro and is already loose and has Velcro showing. Bob has continued to contend this is how the manufacturer designed it and asked me to address it with them directly which I'm now doing. Poor workmanship and disrespectful service is what you will get from this company. I'm now hiring someone to fix their work. Contact me directly if you would like pictures of how my bathrooms were left after they "completed" their work.
Dan Dettloff 5 reviews 5 months ago UPDATE- Bob's "Owner Response" is a flat out lie. Bob, I have a voicemail from you apologizing for missing "ANOTHER" appointment. Don't blame it on the tenant to try to save face. Also, if you did indeed mail the tenant a check feel free to provide me a copy of the returned check and I will gladly remove my review. YOU DIDN'T MAIL THE CHECK AND IT WAS NOT THE TENANTS FAULT THAT YOUR CREW DID NOT SHOW UP... TWICE. Buyers beware... this guy is a flat out LIAR. CAUTION: USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK. The only reason I am giving a ONE STAR is because Google won't let me give a ZERO STAR!!! This is the first and only negative review I have ever posted. I read the mixed reviews about this company before deciding to do business with them. I thought the bad reviews may have been exaggerations. I was wrong.
My first impression of Bob when I first spoke to him was that he had a strong/aggressive personality, but he said all the right things. I wasn't looking to make friends, I was looking to get a tub re-glazed. As instructed I went online and made my payment and scheduled the date for the work to be done. This work was for a rental property and the tenant had to make special arrangements to accommodate the crew because she had a newborn and we were warned that the fumes could be strong. A confirmation email was sent to me so there was no confusion of when the work was scheduled to be done. The day of the appointment the crew did not show up. A couple hours after the crew was to arrive I called Bob to find out when his crew was expected. I was told that appointments set online have to be manually put into their schedule and when they put the appointment in the book they put it down for the next day by mistake. We rescheduled for a few days later.
The day of the second appointment the crew did not show up again. At this time when I called, the call was answered on a speaker phone and when I explained that the guys did not show up again, Bob's wife argued that they were indeed there yesterday. Bob quickly jumped in and said they would call me right back. Later that day Bob called back and apologized and stated his guys got held up on another job and they would not be able to get to the job that day. If I hadn't already prepaid to save the 10% off they offered, I would have gone somewhere else then. Bob said this is not how they operate and even offered to reschedule the job and do it for free. I advised Bob that I understood that things happen and that I wanted the job done, and done right and that I would not accept the job for free. (I feared that I wouldn't get the job done right if it was done for free.) I did however take Bob up on his next offer; to mail the tenant a $50 check for wasting their time twice. I was more than understanding and patient then most people would be. The crew did show up on the third scheduled appointment and did a decent job. Unfortunately, I have left Bob several voicemail messages, and text him many times. Ironically, he text four days after one of my text with the message "thx fir business". I replied to his text asking if he received any of my text or calls to his cell phone or answering service. He said he didn't. I inquired about the $50 to the tenant and he said his wife mailed it the day we talked. He also stated in his text he would get back to me. My text and calls since then have gone unanswered. Bob stated he would get back to me, he never did.
I have decided I am not wasting any more of my time. It's clear the tenant will not get the check promised and that Bob is not a man of his word. Bob was given every opportunity to make good on his offer before a review of my experience of Bob and Detroit Tub was posted. What Bob doesn't know is that I oversee many rental properties and this could have been just the start of benefiting from my business. Luckily for me, I only gave Detroit Tub one job to do! . jamore100 1 review 6 months ago Absolutely do not do business with this company. They do not honor their warranty. They employee put a whole in my bathroom wall. When I contacted the owner about the problem he was rude and obnoxious. They did not fix the whole. Move on! Cynthia Rackham 1 review a year ago Tub floor spongy, 6 (??) coats of glaze didn't cover all areas and caulked pulled away within 3 weeks of installation. The owner, Bob Anderson, very rude and uses lots of profanity, decided to just quit my lifetime warranty. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company for quality work and the owner removing the lifetime warranty at will. Absolutely the worst contractor I have ever encountered.

i also want to repair a mistake i made on an earlier posting. i did give my grdma notice about nice bob coming over to her house. it wasn't a lot of notice, but it was notice. again, i didn't want the nosy neighbor to come over. i wanted to talk to nice bob without a neighbor being present. i was on the phone with my grdma prior to bob arriving. i was letting her know the nice boy would look at the bathroom. a bathroom that needs to be fixed. nice boy threatened to go BACK to my gdma's house after i already called the cops on him. i told nice boy to leave grdm's house when he said he would not talk to me. that he would only talk to my grdma. that was not the arrangement that was made between nice boy and i. so, when he said he would only talk to my grdma, i told him to leave the house now, and i will be calling the cops after i hang up. this nice boy didn't even leave the house immediately. he stayed around and gave a sales pitch. then he texts me and says he will go back to my grdm's house. disgusting. i'm attacheing some links that show how nice boy works.
nice boy - this is a rip off report cuz i'm saving other people from being "ripped off" from u. u ripped me off in lying to me. u ripped off my time. u ripped off my sense of safety for my grdma. u ripped off A LOT of time from me. telling the public all this info. is A LOT of time.

LOL, on this nice guy's rebuttal stuff. he omitted the texts between us where i tell him he can show my grdma my texts. prior to that text he said "that my grdma said i was a drunk. LOL. anyone who knows me knows i do not even drink alcohol. i do not think my grdma ever said those words. i asked her and she said "i never said u were a drunk". how bad of me to want to get my grdm's bathroom fixed. i've told my grdma ahead of time when a handyman is coming to look at a project. nice bob just lies all the time. bob just lies non stop. "my grdma said i'm mentally ill". LOL. she doens't use those words. she doesn't even BELIEVE in mental illness. keep lying bob. that is what ur best at doing. play stay away from the lovely boy. read all the complaints on the net about him. i'm sure they r all correct. i WISH i would of saved every text he sent me. unfort., i deleted many of them. big mistake on my part. i should of known that a lovely boy/bob would do such kind actions. where is the font on this site???

i have no idea why my rebuttal didnn't save on this site. i'm done wasting my time with this evil guy. bob called me today. i didn't answer the phone. i then texted him asking "why did u call me?". i have copy/pasted the texts. he has threatened to sue me and my 97 year old grdma in civil court for harrassment charges (since i did this post on this site). he also said he said he put in a claim of lien form that will be presented at civil court. LOL. how sad that this guy is allowed to do business. i did screen shots of the texts. i went through the process on this site. seemed like it took the screen shots, but my rebuttal post didn't even show up. in addition to my screen shots.
i DO have the screen shots. D i'm trying to run a scam by getting my grdm's bathroom fixed? LOL. it needs to be fixed. ur a scammer and it is all over the net. i do NOT even drink . this guy is scary. he told me what needed to be done for my grdm's bathroom prior to even c-ing it. he said "she needs to have a walk in shower". a "walk in shower" is pricey. he gave me a price based on installing a walk in shower. the price was a minimum amount prior to even looking at the bathroom. again, it also included a walk in shower. i told him we don't need a walk in shower.
i have an aide for my grdma that gives her a shower. i have a transfer tub bench that is recommended by occupational therapy and physical therapy. it extends over the bathtub. so, the user starts out at the portion that is over the tub. then the aide and my grdma can lift her legs over the side of the tub. the grdma scoots to the middle of the bench. she is unbalanced standing and walking. he called me today, i did the post yesterday. i texted him asking him why he is calling me, etc. he sent me a bunch of horrible texts. i did screen shots of them. hopefully i can attached the screen shots.

On 11/01/2018 i got the below email to look at a job for her grandma
as she states i knew what the probelem was on the phone. She said she lives in bellville and would not be able to meet me at her grandmas home as she was poor and broke does not drive.
yesterday , i went to the home and her grandma that she said had metal illnes , in fact SHE WAS aware and stated that she (meaning Dee) sends peope there all the time. I looked a bathroom with dee on the speaker phone and her gramndma standing next to me. her gramdma said that she cannont affrord anywork. After a nice conversation i left and texted dee that fact.
