I purchsed a male engilsh bulldog from Diamond Acres Kennel three years ago. I took him for his well exam within the 48hrs of purchasing to find out he had a grade four heart murmur. My vet recommeded we give him back to the breeder. Easier said than done. I had been looking at his photo for a month and a half before we had gone to pick him up.

My husband was in Iraq at the time and we were waiting for him to come home on R&R to go pick him up. I was so in love with him and hadn't even met hime yet.

When I told Evonne she said her cat had one and it was just a mechanical issue but it does not affect the quality of the dog. She did say that if he died in the next four years from the heart condition she would replace him with a brand new puppy. We felt that was fair as she was going to put him to sleep if we gave him back. I couldn't bare to think that was going to happen to him.

He is in every way perfect on the outside and we have been offered a lot of money from people who don't know our baby to breed with him. He is fixed now so that won't happen but more importantly we would not want his heart condition to be passed on to his puppies.

We spent a year and a half of phone calling, emailing, and finally gettting my husbands jag officer involved to get his papers. He is from Russia and is tatooed but Evonne is not interested in producing nor importing healthy puppies. According to her website they do a vet check themselves and I promise you there was no way they missed this murmur. A reputably breeder would have never allowed this puppy to be purchased.

Needless to say they are just in for the money. We now call our baby Brutus our $20,000 dog! Yes $20,000! The crazy thing is we wouldn't trade him for the world. We are glad we have been able to give him a loving home and do not regret the decision to keep him but she definitely needs stopped from allowing to breed or import!!!!

We emailed her after visiting A&M for the third time last March to let her know what they said. He has pulmonary stenosis and was predicted to live two more weeks. Needless to say we never heard back from her. So much for the we will give you a healthy happy puppy! He has outlived his predicted death date by one year and five months so far.

I hope that some day and soon that Diamond Acres Kennel is shut down because they don't deserve to be around or profit from these puppies. I work with Lonestar Bulldog Rescue in Dallas and we see all kinds of dogs come in that were purchased from crappy, CRAPPY, breeders.

It warms my heart that your buddy has beaten the odds with his murmur. We took our Jake to A&M with the full intention of spending whatever it took to correct his pulmonic stenosis. Unfortunately, Jake only lasted 4 more months before expiring. You would have a better chance of deciphering backwards Swahili or achieving nuclear cold fusion than getting anything back from these people, money, help, or otherwise. Once they get your money, you are a stranger to them. How can these people honestly keep living a lie under the pretense of being honest, upstanding folks? Not only did I lose $2300, I lost my dear friend after only 18 months, and lost my faith in people as well. For those who live in Texas wanting an English Bulldog, Chunky Trunks English Bulldog rescue is a fantastic way to help a great cause and get a good friend. We got our current Bully through them and these folks are absolutely angels and the polar opposite of Diamond Acres, i.e. honest, genuine, and caring. Look 'em up. Gary M. Austin,TX

We to have had to hire an attorney and are in the process of getting ready to go to Court if we do not get our papers in the next 60 days. There is a message board that I have been using, to help people with this problem, although it is for French Bulldog owners, you might see about getting a membership. It is a great message board and has loads of information on our types of breed i.e. bulldogs. I am in the DFW area as well and want to thank you for your Husbands Service to our Country. You can check out the message board at (((ROR REDACTED))) If they delete the link - you can google on French Bulldog Club Chicago and you should be able to locate the links. This is primarily based out of Chicago, and I really wish we had something like this in the Dallas area. Good luck with the Lone Star Rescue.
