I was waiting at the drive through in McDonalds and this white guy in a Lexus stopped at the side of my car and asked if I was interested in some home audio surround sound speakers. I wasn't, but just to be nice I decided to take a look.
He gave me a long, involved, detailed story about how he was selling these items at Showcase Cinemas and how he had recieved an excess amount because of a supplier error. He said he had to get rid of them in a short amount of time so his boss wouldn't take them for himself and said he would sell them for a far lower price than the 1,999 "retail" value. He was really nice, personable and convincing and totally fooled me and I put down $400 dollars with my credit card. He had me so good that I was actually feeling bad that I was taking them from him for such a low price! What an idiot I was.
I have learned an important lesson and sincerely hope I will never be fooled again like I was today. It has been a really hard pill to swallow.
