So, on 12/18/00 I ordered a Canon Powershot S-10 and was told it would arrive by 1/6/01, and "did I need it for Christmas?" Well, I didn't and so it was ordered by phone. I'd already ordered the case, battery, recharger and extra battery elsewhere, and have received these. Just thought I'd check on the order today. Good thing I did, as I was told you couldn't get it, "Nobody can! It's been oversold all over the web!" and you tried to sell me something else, actually several things. My vacation is in two weeks, but the items you tried to sell me had lousy reviews. After hanging up I ordered the camera easily from the next merchant I called and they had it physically in stock.
I was given to believe you had stocked the camera, and nobody gave me any impression to the contrary. Now you suddenly don't have it, do not plan to get it, and nobody calls to tell me about this. I have to trip over it accidentally. You tell me you haven't charged my credit card, as if to say "so no harm done."
Well, folks, you committed to the sale, which is a contract albeit verbal, and I hold you as an honor-less merchant of low repute. You could make a more honest living selling with respect for your customers.
Perhaps I can let others know about you.
I'll see what merchant evaluation organizations are on the web, okay?
Thanks for so very little,
John Kelly
