These thieves will not only lie to you but will break your things and steal money from you by way of deceptive practices. They will give you a quote that is fair but then load your furniture on a truck and tell you Oh golly it is more than we thought the price now is double what they originally told you. They will not unload until you pay. They also do not tell you that the free packing they stated is for the furniture pads but then they will also double wrap your things with shrink wrap and then tell you that it cost extra to do this. (After they have already done it) they also do not tell you that they charge $4.00 a roll for tape they use to wrap your things. I had a charge of $160.00 for 40 rolls of tape. After they were done I found about 12 rolls of partially used tape lying around. They broke my things and left it at the old address without telling my until later. I also told them not to wrap my things (due to the cost involved) they went ahead and wrapped anyway stating it was a police of their insurance carrier. Then they wanted $1500.00 for this wrapping. All told this move they estimated at $3100 ended up costing me $6500. Do not use them they are cheats liars and thieves.

A Fair Quote???? I Don't Think So

Dennis, I doubt you received a reasonable quote. Moving is not cheap and what you got was a low-ball quote. You haven't indicated here where you moved from, and how much you moved. You haven't indicated how many other movers you contacted to allow you to determine whether the quote received was "fair". The truth is, until you reveal this information - we can never know whether you were really ripped off. I get the fact that the company didn't stick by the quote you received, however there is nothing in their contract or their quote that obligated them to the quote. That is the game in the moving industry ultimately; they can quote you what they wish; unless you receive a quote that's binding, not-to-exceed - you will have this happen to you. Moving is not an inexpensive venture and choosing a mover based on price will often lead to consumers paying far more than if they had simply paid more upfront and chosen a reputable mover.
