Since I couldn't keep the hounds at bay, I had to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Well, at least I don't owe anybody now......... PS HSBC (HBSC?)sent me a letter afterwards with a pre-approved CREDIT CARD! LOL In the shredder it went......... Best suggestion for everyone - a rechargeable credit card or a secured credit card. When the funds are exhausted, it won't put you into debt.

I had a judgement placed on me in 2003 by Direct Merchants Bank, AFTER I asked for Validation. When I found out that HSBC bought out Direct Merchants Bank, I got sick to my stomach. Luckily, besides all of a sudden my interest rate, sky rocketed, (not because of my good credit with them) but because of my Credit in general (not all that great). I got really really really nervous. I found a website, creditinfo center to be very helpful. Just wish I found it because I didn't tape telephone conversations, I mailed them but not registered mail, I didn't track their calls, but had I known now I would have turned around and sued them for every violation. In the meantime, I keep a close watch on my credit card and I contacted the Federal Trade Commission and opened up an investigation. I want to just pay my card off, but I don't think there are any reputable credit cards, I don't ask for credit increases and I think that any card or even bank cards should ALLOW Overlimits !!!!
