We found a web site on the internet advertising a hot tub that was just perfect for our needs. We contacted Todd the salesman for Direct To Home Appliances LLC, gave him our credit card number to confirm our order. We received a contract from Todd dated 5/14/2010, a customer number and ID number and that we owed $3,447.00 via cash as they do not accept credit cards for the full payment and that our hot tub would be shipped in 4-6 weeks (allow +/- two weeks for delivery time). I have made many phone calls and sent numerous emails inquiring about our purchase and either have to leave a message with no return call or send emails withno responses. I can count on one had how many times I have actually gotten some response from someone. Also we were told by Todd that this hot tub was such a good deal because it had been a special order, but the purchaser had backed out and therefore he could give it to us at a special price. We did not order the specs that were included with the hot tub. But needless to say, it didn'tcome until we were told it had been delivered to their warehouse on November 28, 2010 and soon to be delivered to us. At this time we had said we'd had enough and wanted a refund only to be told that they didn't have the money to refund us as it was spent elsewhere. On December 20, 2010, I receive an email from Jeff Myers, customer service, that our hot tub was ready for delivery but that they didn't have any money to send it, eventhough our contract included delivery to our home. They have made arrangements with shipping companies to deliver for $300-$400 and that would be refunded "once we are all set" financially to give us a full refund for the delivery. I have a hard time believing this will ever happen. Therefore, I have contacted the FTC, the CA Dept. of Justice and the BBB. We can only hope that some how Steve Barbarich lives up to his promises to his customers, deliver their purchases or provide parts that no longer are working and someone closes this scammer down!
