Direct TV is engaging in deceptive billing practices. I have had my service interrupted for not paying my bill on time. To have my service turned back on Direct TV charges me a $49.00 dollar fee. This fee they charge is illegal because this fee was never part of any agreement I signed with them. When they interrupt the service it is not a physical disconnect. It is just a temporary interruption of service until the bill is paid. I have been one day late paying my bill and have still been charged a $49.00 dollar fee to have my service restored.

By signing a 2 year agreement with Direct TV they have no right to change the terms of agreements as they see fit. My contract should be legally binding. I had been told by a representative of Direct TV that the $49.00 fee they are charging me is not a fee to turn the service back on. It is a charge to cover the time period the service was off. What they will not explain is why I am being charged $49.00 if my service was only interrupted for a few hours.

These deceptive billing practices being used by Direct TV must stop. I am asking that you investigate and stop these deceptive and illegal billing practices being utilized by Direct TV and order Direct TV to issue refunds to all the customers who have been deceived by Direct TV in this way.
