I called to cancel Directv back about 1.5 -2 years ago because I accepted the Triple Play offer from my Cable Company. I was enticed by Directv to keep my account with them but suspend it (now I found out that it was only to keep me from having to be in a contract). There was an issue with billing after the year and I was given a 1 time "pass" so I would not have to pay for them starting my service again.

I explained to them that I wanted to make sure this did not happen again and to make sure I "approved" them restarting my service if I was to keep them on "suspension" (keep in mind that I had 4 cable TV boxes paid for during this time and did not get any services-especially Premium from Directv, so there is NO reason for me to have kept them).

I began receiving hang-up phone calls, and eventually called it back to find out it was Directv and that they had already went through the credit that they owed me and that I owed them for several months service. Upon speaking to every moron at the company, I was told that it was "their policy" to only keep accounts suspended for a certain period of time and that I was informed of this (but they have not produced a copy of the conversation nor a contract that I signed that made this valid). I paid the money and informed them that I wanted to begin a class action lawsuit about unfair billing practices. They provided me their lawyers' address and also sent me a note looking to resolve it if possible.

Not to make this a personal issue, but the last time I did speak with Directv rep, was probably during the time that my mom was in the hospital dying (not an exagerration) and I even told them that if I did agree to something, then just provide proof. THEY DIDN'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING except getting the couple of hundred dollars from me. I called again today and spoke with yet another CSR that quoted "policy" but could not produce anything that I agreed to this or a copy of my call (only what their rep put in their system).

The money is a couple of hundred dollars to me, but personally, their attitude and stance on this is unacceptable (and possibly illegal as they depend on an unreliable mechanism (internet email) to un-suspend someone that is more than likely not expecting it. I welcome VALID ATTORNEYS to contact me as I would be more than happy to assist in a Class Action Lawsuit against them and I could provide the details.

Again, this is more than about money, as they are truly impersonal, condescending and possibly illegal. Please do not contact me if you are not truly qualified as I am not interested in wasting anyone's time.

Thank you.
