I referred my mother right after I signed up with Directv and she was able to have the installation before I had mine installed. Then we both received the refer a friend flyer in the mail with our first bill and so I called to say I referred her, gave her account information and was told it would be reflected on my account and her account. I was told it would be reflected within 4-6 weeks. I am now told that that could never be because we did not go through the refer a friend phone line. I said I am aware of this and that is why I called and they said it was approved. I feel that I have been lied to and am now treated like I am trying to scam Directv - the once nice company now is NASTY and RUDE RUDE RUDE! WOW THAT WAS QUITE A CHANGE!!! I will be reporting this to the BBB and will also post this to consumer reports about how the customer service acts like they are taking notes on your account, even go as far to give you a confirmation number & low and behold they are unable to find it!

"refer a frined" how do you say your referred her if you already stated that "with our first bill" you received a flyers with directv? so meaning you both got the directv acct. in the same day, if you really referred her and signed up first with directv, in the first, place your mother will never get her first bill the same day as you have. second, that is why it was called "refer a friend" meaning one of them should be first or "existing"customer and referring new customer to directv, so that means during the order of directv service your mother should have inform the customer representative that someone referred her. make sense?
