I just got off the phone with DirecTV customer service & customer retention department. What a joke! I have been a customer of DTV for a decade, and I have the 'choice plus' package with HD! They are now going to offer like 100 new HD channels by years end so I contacted them. I am told the equipment that I own & purchased ($300+) within the last 2 years wont work for HD now, and they want me to either commit to 2 years of service ($300 charge if terminted early) or pay $350 for the newer equipment (The new thing is they own the equipment and it must be returned if service is canceled). I am very unhappy with them and I will likely switch to Dish Network or just go back to Comcast Cable as the prices are close and no commitment at all with cable. I think the FCC needs to regulate these Satellite & Cable Companies as they are ripping us all off!!!
