and explain that you recently had this phone number assigned to you and that you have no idea who they are trying to contact. Also explain to them that you want no more contact with them and that any future calls will be considered aggrevated harassment. If they are fool enough to contact you after they receive the letter, simply go to your county DA office and file a criminal complaint for aggrevated harassment. Good luck.

If they are calling your residence for the sake of collection, send them a letter via Registered Mail with Return receipt requesting validation of the debt they are trying to collect. According to federal law they must cease collection activity until they validate that you have a debt with them. It's important to send this via Registered Mail with Return Receipt...otherwise they'll just deny having received it. If they continue to call after sending this...tell the caller that they're in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Act.
