After I posted my first report, I followed through and contacted the FCC, and filed a written report. I received a written reply from the FCC. The more people who contact them, the bigger the pattern they can see. They don't act on individual complaints, they act on PATTERNS. SO DO WHAT IT TAKES TO STOP THESE THIEVES!

I ALSO contacted, IN WRITING, the Colorado Better Business Bureau (where Echo Star is headquartered) because EchoStar OWNS Dish Network AND VMC Satellite is an "affiliate" of Dish Network. They make these corporations confusing for people so they find it harder to blow the whistle on them. But due diligence pays off.

I also wrote to the New York State Attorney General's Office, because EchoStar, aka Dish Network, aka VMC Satellite is DOING BUSINESS IN MY STATE even if they're NOT located here. As such, my State Attorney General's office has a bona fide interest in protecting its residents from out-of-state scammers like these.

I pointed all the letter recipients to the fact that the Colorado Better Business Bureau HAS SO MANY COMPLAINTS filed with them against Dish network, EchoStar, VMC (over 3600!) that it has asked consumers to CALL ECHOSTAR FIRST before consumers file the complaint! Sounded like collusion to me!!! I filed the complaint anyway!

I'm TIRED of trying to negotiate with thieves! If they were prone to do the "right thing" in the FIRST place, there wouldn't BE SO MANY COMPLAINTS against them!!!! I have wasted countless hours trying to get anyone from Dish Network to do the right thing before I gave up trying. I'm finished.

I disconnected the box yesterday. I'm filing a small claims action this week, and HOPING the government does the RIGHT THING and goes after these THIEVES. WARNING: DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these thieves, no matter how tempting it seems.

If it sounds TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS! I have a Doctorate in LAW and they tricked me! (TO TOP IT ALL OFF, CONTRACTS IS MY FORTE'!!!!)

They are scam artists and have NO DESIRE TO TREAT CONSUMERS with respect, courtesy or fair play. In the end, I hope it's THEY WHO LOSE. File your complaints w/ your state, regardless of where you live. Stop these thieves once and for all. Your INACTION HELPS THEM GET RICHER.

This is a common problem, most often with DISH Network and DISHNET. Customer Service people from both the programmer and the service provider blame the other and intentionally confuse the customer. If it were not for this website, you would still be ignoring the problem.

We have spoken to this customer. She states that she now understands that Dish Network is a separate company from VMC Satellite, Inc.

VMC Satellite, Inc. is a dealer for Dish Network. We have explained that we do not handle her billing and that is the problem she is having. Dish Network is the company that bills her for service.

We have also requested that she forward us an email with her complaint so that we can try to influence Dish Network for her.

To this date, we have not received anything from her.

Thanks for your time.
