Through many mailers, ads, web, newspapers, via special communications, and etc..  they marketed their services for a 12-month offer depending on which package was selected.  The package I selected was advertised as America's top 200 for $34.99 per month for 12 months (stated at least 3x on front and back) - after comparing several services (cable(s) and other satellite company offers) I decided that I would go for security model for 12 month pricing and looked at the fine print which stated must be for 2 years...knowing I would be locked into a upwards price after 12 months.

NO WHERE ON ANY AD, PRINTED STATEMENT, NOTED INFORMATION AND/OR SPECIAL MESSAGE TO ME DID THEY MENTION THAT A 12 MONTH COULD BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANYTIME.

Being that mentioned to their sales that I wanted to time my switch out from cable to satellite with the sales person they did not tell me about this 12 month price subject to change after I had reiterated it to make sure that is what I was getting as I was concerned how much I might be raised to after 12 months.

When time came for the Installer to install the satellite the install went to install it before showing or talking about *any* contract. When it did come time for the installer to have me sign something it was portrayed more like a liability for the equipment than signing a document contract adjusting what I thought I was getting into...and the installer basically presented this to me while I was basically under duress as I had already canceled my previous cable and he had just finished with this installation.. and glossed over it what I was signing as if it was only for equipment.

That being said... DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY AS THEY WILL BAIT AND SWITCH AND ONLY CARE TO ADVERTISE ONE PRICE BUT WILL MAKE YOU SIGN SOMETHING YOU DO NOT REALIZE WHAT YOUR GETTING INTO SO THEY CAN RAISE RATES ON YOU!

Fixthesystem.  Contact and file a complaint with your states Attorney Generals Office.  Nationwide Dish is being bashed with complaints similar to yours and all the rest on this site.  Best advice.  File a complaint with the AG for your state.  This company needs a good spanking.

false advertisement for 12 months pricing

I was lured into Dish Systems because of the 12-month pricing offer.  This was something similar I got from comcast years back.  Although with comcast they never raised the price and held to what was stated on their advertisement in direct contrast WHERE DISHNETWORK RAISES THEIR PRICES WITHOUT WARNING AND NO REGARDS TO CURRENT CUSTOMER PROMISES OF 12-MONTH OFFERS.

To me this is outright BAIT AND SWITCH  ADVERTISING that should be investigated by FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

No where in your advertising today ANYWHERE does it ever mention that 12-month pricings are subject to change within the 12-month -- its very deceptive and gives off a guarantee on pricing to consumers when its NOT true!!!

BUYER BEWARE OF DISH NETWORK DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING -- THEY CLAIM  THAT ONCE YOU ORDER THEM THEY WILL PUT THIS 'WE CAN RAISE PRICE' THING INTO A CONTRACT AFTER THE INSTALLER HAS INSTALLED AND AFTER YOU PROBABLY CANCELED YOUR PREVIOUS PROVIDER -- BASICALLY PUTTING YOU IN A UNDER DURESS SITUATION WHICH NULLIFIES THE SIGNING IN COURT ANYWAY!

Hi FixtheSystem this is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I am very sorry about the confusion of your signing up for DISH Network. When a customer signs up for our service we have two different options for types of accounts. There is the DHA24 and it allows you to get your programming and equipment and install and the only fee will be the first month’s bill. As well they will receive promotional credits for signing up for the 24 month agreement. If a customer decides not to have a contract they will pay the one-time $99.00 activation fee and the customer will not receive any promotional credits. After the tech finishes the install we then and only then have them sign the paper work to start their agreement with DISH Network. If there are any questions I may answer for you or help you with I will leave my e-mail so you can reach me directly. [email protected]
